Anybody else waiting for the spike hawks from coldsteel. About 4 to 5 years ago I wrote cold steel and asked if they would add a spike to there norse hawk. They sent me a letter saying they would consider this. I think they waited alittle long to get into the more tactical hawk race, but they know what they are doing. Here's a picture of a beast i've had for some years now. it's a ranger custom from rangerknives and It's built to last a life time.

got it in a trade, its a really nice hawk. and up for sale if anyone is interested. got it on the for sale forums right now.

I wanted my own RMJ forge talon for a long time, I had to make my own from an old saw blade, about 3 feet across, hardened so I had to cut it with a plasma cutter. Once it was finished it had the same outline as a talon but was only 1\8''thick. Once the edge was where I wanted it I ran outside to try chopping something, and it snapped off right under the head. :( I guess I should have tried to soften it first.

I do wish that the bit profile on the CS spike hawk was more norse hawk, The extra point up top on the bit really makes it a better thrower, and increases the sticking and gouging potential.

I also really like the pipe hawk design. I like the Trail hawk for throwing, but id needs significant lightening for an all arounder, or a fighting hawk. It is a heavy sucker for switching directions. But for sure, it hits hard for throwing and chopping.

I would like to know when the Trench Hawk and Spike Hawk are expected to be available. Anyone know?
