New collection, looking for direction

I was interested until I saw the ridiculous branding on the blade. It's like the Rock Island Armory of the knife world. Do they offer one without all that?

Knife collecting is a strange ride.

Got a little burned out over the fall, but possibly just ran out of time/energy because of football season. Got a Sharpmaker for my birthday in August and spent a little bit of time learning to sharpen, but never got great at it and gave it up when fantasy football took over all my free time.

Fast forward a few months. In addition to being a rabid football fan, I'm also a poker player. I went on a crazy hot streak from Christmas until now and all that cash was just burning a hole in my pocket. That's when the knife hobby came flying back!

Adding 3 new knives to the collection this week:
- Spyderco Manix 2 in S110V
- Chris Reeve large Sebenza 21
- Todd Begg Bodega - full Ti with lightning strike carbon fiber and ceramic bearings

In addition to adding 3 new knives, all of which would basically be a new centerpiece of my collection on it's own, I've rededicated myself to learning to sharpen knives. I'm semi-retiring my 0566 to be the project knife since I don't see it getting much pocket time in the near future with all the new kids in town. I figure if I can learn to sharpen ELMAX, I should be able to do anything.

FWIW - I was really conflicted about adding a Lionsteel TM1 and/or a Brous Division Flipper, but when the opportunity popped up to buy the fully loaded Bodega, I just couldn't say no. I put a pretty healthy dent in my poker bankroll, but I figure if I slide all the way back down, I can always sell off the Bodega for a boost.

I'll check back in next week with pics and a refresh of the collection as it currently stands. Hooray for the knife collecting sickness!
