Hey everybody, my name is Joe and I'm from Western PA. I'm an Eagle Scout and I've loved knives and using them for about a decade now.

Last year or the year before, I got my first higher end knife in a BM 51. I absolutely loved it and added it to my pile of cheapo knives that really wasn't any kind of collection. In the past few weeks, I've gotten a lot more interested in the different kinds of knives and decided I wanted to start funneling some of my funds toward collecting and expanding my EDC horizon so I'm sure you guy's see me around fairly often!

I recently just picked up a BM51 Flytanium V4 and a Microtech Storm Trooper Ultratech so I think I'm getting off to a solid start ;)

See you guys around!

Welcome. I have been collecting knives since I was a kid. Put some old slip joints in your collection like Case.
You will have fun collecting as I still do. 😊👍 Kevin

Sounds like you are into tactical style knives. If that is a trend you wish to continue, Emerson is worth a look, as well as some Zero Tolerance knives.

If you are looking to broaden your horizons beyond tactical, look at the Spyderco Manix 2 and Para-Military 2. If you are interested in Ti flippers, Zero Tolerance is the name of the game, along with Kizer and a select few Benchmades and Spyderco's.

@kda I have one of their lock backs, one of my first knives! I'll have to pick up a slip joint next time I'm at the store.

@K.O.D. I love the 2 Emerson x Kershaw CQC's that I have. Great knives for the money for sure! I've been looking into the PM2 and almost bought one last week if it wasn't for the color of it! ZT is becoming very intriguing to me the more I learn about them. I'm thinking my next non-butterfly folder might be a ZT Ti Flipper

@socialknifecollector I'm going to have to look into them! All of the Protech's I've heard about or seen look great and I haven't looked much at their tactical line (if at all)! I'll have to take a look at them for sure.

Thanks for all the great suggestions guys! My favorite kinds of knives are probably tactical and gentleman's folders. I EDC'd a Leek for years and recently lost it (most likely to one of the scouts in my Troop one day when I wasn't paying attention :( )
