New Colors for Old Models

jux t jux t 's post this week informing us that FDE Recon 1s were back in stock got me curious, so I started looking around. It turns out that Cold Steel has released a number of established models in new color schemes. In addition to the Recon 1, there are new handle/blade combinations of Kobun, Ti-Lite, 4-MAX Scout, and SRK-C. They all look really nice. I won't bother with photos, as there are too many.

I'm a sucker for black blades and green handles. So I have to admit that, against my better judgment, I may be guilty of buying a couple of new Cold Steel knives that I definitely didn't need!

The timing of this release strikes me as a bit odd, coming unannounced in the middle of the year. Maybe I'm just out of the loop and GSM has been shouting about it on social media. If they did, I wouldn't know.

Maybe we should be more patient I can give them a chance to get their production up. I have my doubts but I ain't quit yet. Could be supply issues? I like green and black.😎

Thank you, I had forgotten about that. I also have to admit that I discounted it, since GSM never mentioned anything about 4-MAX Scout variants in its "New for 2022" announcements. Of those colors listed by the German dealer, I've only seen FDE and Dark Tan with stonewashed blades. Hopefully more are coming, like EveryDayIsHalloween was told.

I remember only because I've been waiting impatiently on the all black one!

WMK has a bunch listed in their coming soon section.

Edit: err they did, but now it looks like they're moved out despite not being in stock yet. Searching pulls them up for pictures though.
 
OK, this really bothers me!

How can you have an "exclusive" with D DLT Trading and then turn around and offer the same knife as a regular product? It defeats the purpose and completely undercuts DLT's pricing.

That annoys me as well
Side question but how long have these been showing up as coming soon? I see other Espada XL colorways listed there. Just search ‘Espada’ on the same site

Sorry, no idea. The Cold Steel Web site also mentions them in the Espada description, but says that they're not in stock yet (no pictures, either).

Heads up! A few color versions of the following have landed, so Google around the different knife places:
Kyoto I and Kyoto II in complete blackout and OD/black blade
Luzon Large in blackout, Orange/black, OD/black, Desert/black etc.
Luzon medium in a few options similar to above as well
They look cool!
