New combat knife for SEAL

What do you mean by a "mini tanto tip"? it sounds great but i am having a hard time picturing what you mean~Chris
Chris,

I got a Kiridashi but it has another tanto point on the tip. By INCREASING the surface area of the tip hence increasing the edge from 1 to 2 (much like the BESH design) the tip will be very strong.

very nice... very functional looking.

As to corrosion resistance, etc... I worked on a live aboard dive boat working the Pacific off the California coast for 7 years... and I always chose high carbon over stainless for working knives (line cutting, scallop shucking, halibut dispatching, rescue, etc). Partly for aesthetics... but I just feel like I get better performance than any of the stainless knives I've used... but, admittedly.. I haven't used what would be considered better grades of stainless. But a little oil goes a long way.. and I love the look of a naturally patinated high carbon blade.

Very Very nice! Thank him for his service from all of us here, and bravo to you for making this great knife for a great American! I am very impressed with the design and the execution.

I like it a LOT ! Almost looks like it could be a 2 finger choil. Nice thumb spot area as well. Looks VERY functional. Great job !

Looks like a great knife. The only concern I'd have is that there's not too much flaring at the end, which means that the forefinger groove will have to do all the work to keep the knife in hand. That does fine in my experience, but there are certainly many combat knife makers who feel that a good dedicated fighting knife needs to have more of a wide pommel or something to keep it from flying out of your hand. Be that as it may, that's a great american tanto interpretation, and I love the finish and looks. Great job!
