New combat knife?

If you really want a good combat knife at a great price....enlist in the US Army or US Marine Corps. They will not only provide with them, but teach you how to use them, and not like in those silly video games.

Must admit Im not into video games either, have so far resisted the urge to buy a Playstation or X-Box as Id much rather "play" outside (despite once having a go at a very enjoyable bank shootout in a Die Hard game!) but I seem to recall that the character in Splinter Cell, is his name Fisher or something?, carries a Gerber Guardian, but I could be wrong.

No, they don't unfortunately.

 methinks you know way too much about this video game! :D :D

Talking about this?

I know a little, saw afew commercials for the game and was intrigued coz it was a Tom Clancy "product". I think I read something on this or similar forum about the knife carried by the SF guy in the game.

Have to say, THAT folder does look rather nice, though! Looks very MOD Trident-ish!! (I always wanted a MOD Trident, got talking to a GMP Special Branch officer one day & he carried one Along with a Sig 9mm)

Nah, I have a pocket hobbit, quite different.

The handle makes me think of a MT Amphibian. Funny thing is that it appears to be a FB in a horizontal sheath at the small of the back, but they put in a pivot and thumbstud (in the wrong places to actually be useful)

Cant speak for the Corps but I know in the Army, we learn to use the CSK to build and destroy. Your CSK must never leave you when you are afield. period.

I was a Captain in the US Marine Corps. We were all taught quite well with the M7 bayonet back (way back) then.

it has some kind of silly forward-facing hook on the edge nearest the handle.
It looks to me like a game designer looked at pics of various tactical knives and mashed them together with a little mall ninja flair.

Looks like there's not enough clearance for the thumb stud to close it. But maybe there's a uber-sneaky button that makes the blade extend before folding. ;)

What is a CSK and when has being in ROTC make you "in the Army?"
