NEW compass question

I read the other post on compass usage and I have a rather basic question...how do I learn the proper way to use my new birthday gift? Anyone know of a good book or website? Thanks, Dave

And you can also use the compass for making maps, not just navigating by finished maps. A decent text on mapping will give you the information you require.
