New condor moonshiner somthin strange happens to it

Hi everyone I have not bought any new blades lately .So I was itching for some new steel but low on funds and I came across a condor moonshiner .I knew of condor already of course but had never purchased one.I was in need of a good choler anyway none of my blades are longer than 7 inches and that knife is a USMC kabar.So the moonshiner is what I got.I always thought you needed too spend a hundred dollars or more to get a good knife and I was wrong.This thing is a great knife.Some guys I read online said they did not come sharp but mine was fairly sharp serviceable for shire.I just wanted to touch it up some on the fine grit stone I have .So I put some black marker on the edge and started sharpening.When I was done I used some of my wife's nail polish remover to remove ansy traces of the marker off.This is something I do with a lot of my blades.After I applied the nail polish remover the blade hazyy looking and sorta sticky and discolored .I was quite worried the at I had ruined it.The hazy discoloratgreeseeventually came off but it took a half a bottle or more of flits polish and a lot of elbow free !Does anyone have any idea what the heck that was all about?

There's a very thin layer of clear lacquer over the blade to prevent rusting in storage and shipping. It wears off quickly on its own, but that's probably what the stickiness was--the nail polish remover dissolving the thin layer of clear coat.

Thanks I thought it was something like that when I took it out of the box it was soaked in oil I wiped it down but I figured there was still some there.so in the future that a good way to remove sharpie ink.I should have just left well enough alone .it was already sharp I just can't help myself.Even though I know that a blade that size dissent need to be razor sharp.Thanks for the help.
