I just got my CQC 7 in the mail today from Blade HQ. I got a serrated blade because I think the CQC 7 just looks better with serrations. Anyone else feel this way about other Emerson models?

A lot of knives that I purchased prior to a few years ago were partially serrated. Nowadays, I only buy plain edge knives. They're easier to keep sharp and cut as well. If you don't sharpen your knives often or cut a lot of fibrous material, serrated definitely has it advantages.

Plainedge on a tanto for me, I need all the cutting surface I can get! Dont really have a need for serrations these days.

I already have a Horseman in plain edge. I wanted to see what the Emerson serrations were like. I have the bug now, what model will i buy next?

I like serrations for my cqc 8 but I would like it equally without. The 15 needs serrations for me

I also have the bug. I think the Etak and Patriot look pretty bad ass.

I love Emerson's serrations, especially the tanto blades, and the Commander just doesn't look right with a plain edge.

Today I ordered my first Emerson knife !!! Can't wait to get it here. It is a CQC 7 BW in black with serration. My opinion: it looks a little better in black with serration. Without serration, i would like the silver stonewash better.
So well, i am excited about my first emerson experience. I watched tons of videos on youtube about it and thought of buying one since half a year now ... maybe about two days and i can hold it in my own hands :-)

CQC7 is where its at. I've edc'd one for a long while now. Congrats:thumbup:

My A100 is the only one I own with serrations(plain edge was unavailable), but I dig it. I've yet to need a serrated edge, but ya never know:)

So i will update you, about my first impessions, when the cqc 7 arrives. There is much good reputation, but also a lot bad reputation. Here in the Bladeforums , there have been topics about lock failure and so on. Hopefully i will like my new knife ... :)

Hope you enjoy your CQC. When you get it, go over it as you would with any new knife inspection. Don't fret too much over the "failure" posts, as most of these are based on deliberate abuse, or attempts to rile up "discord infotainment" on the forums. If you do have a knife with a problem (unlikely), then let Emerson know, and you'll get it fixed, and also help their quality control. Emerson's success is no accident.

I think the serration depends. I do own a Benchmade 710 with serration. That realy looks awful :-)
By the way i am from germany and the us knives arent very popular here. I do like black blades and a lot of shops here just got black with serration in stock.

Thats a nice ... super CQC 7
I like the blue handle scales, it reminds me a bit of my Benchmade Kulgera

Heres my contribution to the CQC 7 love....an OG Benchmade/Emerson super CQC-7

Modded with Digicam peel-ply scales

I like those! ^^

Looking back on it, i would actually like serrations on mine. But if the blade was actually a right handed grind. Thats just me personally.
