^ amazing what bolsters and a change up of scales can do for a knife. That there is plain ole awesome:thumbup:

Hello Rival1314 Your CQC7 also looks great, i like the olive green color. Looks tactical :-) I think a lot better than jungle green.
Are you selling those scales?

I can't wait to get my CQC7, i ordered and paid it on monday, and they didn't send it out yet. I am 38 years old and can not wait for that knife to arrive - and i can't think of anything else ... behaving like a child :)

SOC_MRN_Leon nice pick of your super 7 and Officer's Match. Where did you get those scales? On that topic anyone know anyone doing custom super 7 scales? Love my super 7 it's been my EDC for awhile now, haven't even thought about ordering a knife to replace it since I got it. The super 7 fits my needs so well.

I made them my self actually. First set of scales i've ever done and this wasnt easy. Emersons should be easier but the BM version is a bit different. Rival does scales too. I dont have the membership on here to take orders lol.

We all act the same way! ;)

It's weird. I only like te serrations on certain models. Like I really prefer serrations on the Commander and the CQC-7 and maybe the Gentleman Jim because I use it for self defense and not an EDC. But on the other two I like the serrations for EDC. Matter of fact I prefer it.

But on models like Horseman, CQC-8 with the sweep blade I don't.

I don't have a CQC-15 with serrations but since that spanto blade combines so many of the other Emerson traits I think it would be grwat to have it a serrated edge to.

SOC_MRN_Leon what do you like about the benchmade super 7 so much that you don't carry a modern super cqc 7 like yours truly?

My first Emerson ever, the CQC 7 arrived yesterday !!!

It is from the year 2012 , it is unused and I bought it as new.
The lock is rock solid, 100% reliable. The knife deploys smooth.
The fit and finish is totally perfect, I controlled that verry carefully and interested after i heard so many rumours.
So I am so happy with this knife and with the legendary Mr. Emerson

It has way better F&F than Emersons. It is soo smooth. Also has dual Ti liners and got a killer deal on it for it being LNIB. Also i think its a little slimmer than the emerson super 7. It just looks better to me. I tried getting my emersons smooth I mirror polished the innards of my jman and horseman and still the BM Super 7 is still smoother and the deal was a steal. Paid $120 below for what an Emerson Super 7 goes for. So yea thats my reasoning :)

All very good reasons. I like the thickness but your right about it being a little thinner, it seems all old Emerson's are around that lvl of thickness. Yeah even if you mirror polish it you're still limited by the washers. I personally prefer phos bronze washers, but I think for Emerson's oil impreg washers would be the way to go. I like how you always are doing up your super 7 in the pics. I also love my super 7 but I've never done any customization on it, it's been my daily EDC for a while now and seen allot of use.

This thread pushed me to buy a CQC-7B SF. I recently got two chisel ground knives (Daniel Fairly Knives) and they are fantastic. Ease of sharpening is nuts and I really like the way they cut! I've also been considering a Strider SnG with a tanto blade just to check out the profile. The first and only tanto I've had was a CRKT KISS circa 1997. I used it for anything and everything and it never really had any problems. Even though I was used to Boker slipjoints and lock backs I never had a problem with the tanto or the lefty chisel grind. I always wanted a Benchmade CQC-7 but when I joined BF I went straight for a Sebenza. It is still the "best" folder I've ever owned. My SnGs are my overall fav knives.

I'm stoked to step into somewhat unfamiliar territory & take a trip down memory lane back to pretty much THE knife that brought me to Bladeforums several years ago.

Half in jest & half sincere... THANKS BF!

That's awesome to hear. The cqc-7 was the first tanto I ever liked, it's just so good at so many tasks. I love how I can sharpen the two blades at different angles, the secondary point is excellent for razor like cuts, the front edge scrapes really well and makes excellent precision cuts.

CQC-7 is the one I fell in love with and had to have it when I first saw one. But i read the specs and it seemed a little small for me. I wear a large glove and the Super-7 fits the bill very nicely! I also hated chisel grinds but I LOVE them now! Only if the were on the right side for us right handed people lol.

That's the same process that brought me to the super 7. I took my super 7 on a week long hike recently, it worked brilliantly for stripping bark from trees and logs to make fires. It got right behind it and tore of chunks really well. It worked equally as well to stab open cans and than saw the lids off, this was an instance where the chisel grind and the blade shape especially worked in my favor. I just really wish the chisel grind was a right hand grind for things such as making feather sticks or really any kind of scraping action.
