My freind just recently got one of the NEW Emerson CQC7's that are supposed to be better than the old Benchmades.. Believe me they are!!

It feels great and has a smoother opening action plus you can even take it apart.

WELL, I was wondering if it is underated or not it seems like a good folder, but I just dont hear much talk about here in the forum?

Does anyone have any comments on this knife, or does anyone own one?

I've had the new CQC7 for a couple of months now and I think it's a pretty good knife, although limited in it's uses. It's great for slicing open boxes and stuff, but it's not much good in the kitchen (the grind isn't suited) and IMO the grind is on the wrong side for a rightie so if you whittle it pulls like crazy. It's not that the CQC7 is underated, it's just that it's been hyped so much there's a certain amount of "aww, it's not that good." I think it's a pretty good knife, but like I said, a little limited. Just my opinion.

I will soon recieve my CQC7A with spearpoint double ground blade, and I guess this one should be more of a utility blade than the chiselground one.
I first ordered one from Bayou LaForche knifeworks, but unfortunately I got the CQC7B, chiselground version.
Anyway, the knife I first got was a solid piece of work with smooth action and tight tolerances. One thing annoyed me though, the pivot screw came loose too easily.
