Congratulations on a fine aquisition. Good For You!!

Kind of neat to know that even after some 60+ Sebenzas you can still enjoy a bit of excitement over yet another one. :) And this one is Extra Special.

I have had more than 60+ CRK total. I would estimate 25 were One Piece Knives & other CRK fixed blades. Another 6-7 were mnandi. 3 were umnumzaans, and the rest.....The good old sebenza. I will have to sit down and count how many sebenzas and which ones I had. I miss most of em, especially the regulars. The 21's, not so much.

The sebenza is still my favorite with the Large Regular Sebenza being my favorite.

This Large P Sebenza, I wasn't this excited in a long time. I still would like a large regular sebenza with a damascus blade. But this Large P will hold me over for quite some time.

Thanks for all the great posts.

Well, I finally got around to taking my new Large P Sebenza apart for a thorough cleaning. With it being around the world and back, it was pretty dirty inside, but it cleaned up beautifully as you can see. I put some CRK lube in her and she is buttery smooth like my other sebenzas. The blade was very dull. It took about an hour on the sharpmaker to bring her back to shaving sharp.

I took some pics of it disassembled as I am sure you don't see too many pics of a P sebenza broken down. Pretty much the same as the newer sebenzas. The older ones only had one size bronze washer and not the large and small like the newer ones have. Also, since the slabs on the older ones are thicker, the male/female screws are a bit longer as well.

Thanks again for all the comments and Enjoy The Pics...!!!

Pics of her all cleaned up. I love the smooth well worn feel of Titanium. NO Spa for this one as I Love it just the way it is.

Enjoy...!!!

Very nice, Sir! Looks like it's seen a lot of action. I too love the look and feel of well-loved ti.

Prof.

Great photos of a beautiful knife! The character marks that life has given it just make it all the more Special, and also a world traveler at that.
I especially enjoy studying the disassembled knives and I am always impressed with the seemingly simple construction but with instrument-like tolerances.
That is one special find. And I agree. No Spa treatment for that one! :)

It's always fun to watch an experienced collector get excited about a new CRK acquisition, Tom. And you should be! That's a great find, especially these days. The early models are getting much, much harder to find. Congratulations!

Thanks my friend and Thanks to everyone for commenting. Its one thing to have a normal sebenza coming in the mail. I have been there being so excited for my first sebenza, my first mnandi...etc. But all those were years ago......Wow, Just thinking - Hard to believe I have been collecting CRK for 10+ years now.....time flies I guess. I sat down just last night and wrote down all the CRK I have and have had. Mostly have Had....lol. I counted 65.......and no, I am not thinking about retiring from collecting CRK's either ( Mr. Reeve Smiling I Am Sure...lol ) ..........I have always wanted a P sebenza and have had some chances over the years, but the prices were usually way too high, or they have been modded, which voids warranty. The P sebenza has always eluded me, just like a large regular with damascus. When this one came about, I thought it was a small P sebenza, but after looking at my small "P Style" sebenza, I began to think it might be, just might be a Large P sebenza.... For those that know me, know the large sebenza is my favorite, only rivaled by the umnumzaan, but the large regular is still my favorite. What I have always loved about the P sebenza is it has the Large Regular blade profile, with the Classic style thumb cutout....

This one was and is truly special and will remain a cornerstone of my collection. Nice to feel like a kid again........waiting anxiously.......!!!

Enjoy...!!!

This is why we buy and cherish Sebenzas. Just does not get better than this.

congrats man and thanks for showing us the broken down shots....very cool.

Thanks........ I thought when I had it apart that I had never seen pics of a P Sebenza taken apart before. I am sure people have been curious or wondered, so I figured I would have at it. Glad everyone likes the pics.
