Greetings, cruiser of the interwebs! I am excited to offer you the latest hunting knife off my bench and out of the new shop! This one gets my blood flowing! Its just the right size for general game processing, and has been given a spa treatment with it's heat treat! The HRC on this baby is 64-65HRC, and made from Crucible's Cru Forge V high carbon steel. This blade received a "pre-quench" prior to it's final hardening quench. This really helps to refine the grain of the steel, thus giving it added toughness at a given hardness. This blade also underwent a sub zero (-100°F) soak immediately following the oil quench to ensure as much martensite formation as possible. Final tempering was done with 3 cycles at 300°F. A fine steel and a fine heat treatment won't serve you well if the geometry is too thick. With a spine thickness of only 0.110" and a full flat grind to a pre-sharpened edge width of 0.005", this is thin geometry that is fun to use and easy to sharpen. Being that the edge is as thin and as hard as it is, I just want the buyer to be aware this is not an "average" knife for the masses, and is meant to be used with care and not abused or torqued into bone. I would be hesitant to baton this blade thru a pelvic bone or sternum, even tho it "probably" could handle it, but for what its designed for, it has an excellent combination of geometry and hardness. The handle is made from a wood I've always thought looked great but never had used until this project....Cocobolo. Pins are black micarta. The photos really don't do the color of the Cocobolo any justice, and it's an extremely light weight knife that fits like a glove. I have made myself an exact copy of this blade to use this deer season, and can't wait to do so! Like I mentioned earlier, I am really excited to offer this knife to you, as I think it really is a well made custom hunting knife designed to excel at its job.

OAL: 7 1/2"

The 2nd knife is a repost and price drop. It is a paring knife that would be equally well suited as a bird and trout knife! Made from a very high quality German steel called 1.2519 (don't you just love that name?!), it is almost identical in composition to Hitachi Blue (Ao) # 2. An extremely fine grained steel that retains a lot of toughness even at high hardness levels. It is thin, only 1/16" thick at the spine, and glides through fruits like apples and veggies such as carrots. Handle is made from locally sourced mesquite wood hand sanded to 1200 grit and then oiled with Watco Danish and sealed with a few coats of satin poly. Brass pins. Feels great in the hand with various grip styles, and is super lightweight. A LOT of knife for the price.

OAL: 8"
Blade: 3 5/8"
Handle: 4 3/8"
Thickness: 1/16"
Steel: 1.2519 62HRC
Edge: 0.010" 30° inclusive

If anyone would like to make a serious offer on either knife, I'm open to that, and really could use the cash flow this week.
