Saw on a facebook group there was a rumor of an unannounced run of Cruwear PM2s about to be released at KC. Has anyone heard anything about this? I have been holding out for some more M390 but Ive also been wanting to try Cruwear for the first time.

If you get a chance, take it. Cru-Wear acts like something special. The ease of sharpening of a carbon steel, the corrosion resistance more akin to a stainless steel, and the good toughness and edge retention of a tool steel. It's kinda like D2 that's been upgraded in almost every way. Better edge retention, better toughness, roughly equal corrosion resistance, roughly as easy to sharpen. Put simply, it's an absolutely lovely steel.

What scales are going to be on this one? I would like a matching PM2 to go along with my Manix. I really like the smooth CF Spyderco used on the Cruwear Manix.

According to pics on the Spyderco forum it looks like black G10. Glad I have one of the Grey ones.

Agree, the black G-10 is a turn off for me, also happy with my original grey G-10.

Man, I was really hoping if it was real it would have a more appealing handle color. Guess the determining factor will be the price.

I agree that black g10 is a turn off. I will also wait to see what the price is. I can always swap some cf scales. I do like Cruwear. It’s easy to sharpen and is pretty tough. It’s also relatively stainless in my experience. I haven’t had a problem with Cruwear rusting like I have with M4 and 52100. My sweat is the corrosive type so in one good work day I can have a pretty good amount of corrosion. I have even managed to get spots on my DLC M4 Manix but no spots on my Cruwear.

Cool...I feel like Spyderco could make an ice cream scoop out of Cruwear and sell every unit they can crank out.

Id be in for 2. Cruwear is my favorite "everything" steel and its rarely made unfortunately...so I'd need a back up.. or 3...:D

Agree, the Putnam scales were my first inclination when seeing the black G-10

Regards,
FK
