Has anyone else noticed this? I thought something was odd when I noticed New Graham has one listed for $29 with AUS8. I have a 154 blade model and love it. What is the quality on the Taiwanese stuff like?

The 'HEAT",'BLAZE' and the 'SIZZLE' are all made in Taiwan and the quality is first rate. All of mine came scary sharp out of the box and the fit and finish was perfect. I don't have a CUDA EDC that was made offshore but they are probally being produced at the same location of the HEAT series.
Good Collecting !

I have an EDC in 8A. I used it at work landscaping all last summer and was a little (lot) rough on it. It stood up very well. All I did is touch up the edge on weekends, and tighten up the pivot just once or twice. The second time I added a drop of blue locktite and it stayed ever since.

Great knife, freakin sweet for the 25$ you can find it for if you look long enough.

Mine has been a disappointment. It required quite a bit of work to reprofile the edge so that it was thin enough, and I still can't get it to take a really sharp edge. It feels little softer and "gummier" than other AUS8A knives I've had (my personal favorite steel overall), almost like ATS-34 that is too soft.

Maybe I just have bad luck and got the one that didn't get a decent heat treat? I think I'm having the same problem with a Buck Hilo, although it will take a nice edge, but it won't last.

By contrast, my Heat is a keeper. It also required significant reprofiling, but it will take a nice edge. The edge lasts as long as one could expect a factory AUS8A blade, so no surprises there.

I've noticed the same thing. A big difference in price too!
I have an older EDC I bought new for $50. The box says it's ATS34 and the blade says made in USA. I really like this knife, it's very sharp and would make a great EDC. The only problem is I can't get it out my pocket without the clip hanging up. ( give myself a melvin trying to get it out of my pocket).
I don't know if it's the clip being to tight or it's combination of the slots in the handle and the clip.
I have other knives (not an EDC) made in Taiwan and they've all been of good quality for the price.
