Custom designed this one about a month ago. Got it back from Brian in about two weeks. Hasn't been out to the woods yet, but I wanted to post a few pics to show you guys. 1/8" O1 stock, 4.5" blade, 9.3" OAL, 1.25" height, convex edge, unpolished natural canvas handle with some sweet curves. I designed the tip to excel in filleting fish, nice belly for slicing and skinning game, and brought the edge nice and close to the handle for ultimate control in bushcraft tasks. Brian did an excellent job in turning a cardboard template into reality. His finished product is not evident of of newer knife-maker. I highly recommend him to anybody.

Nice!

I like the shape of the blade and back end. Looks like it would be hot-spot free for carving.

That's Stunning! What was you reason for putting the lanyard hole like that?

Thanks!

I wanted to have that corner exposed for light hammering/prying. Also to be used for digging shapes into wood when crafting. I figured add a hole for a lanyard even though I generally don't use them.

Wow. Really nice design there 500. Esp the handle.

Agree 100% about BGA's skills as a knifemaker. He's got true talent.

Ooooh, that is sweet! Great job on the design, are you cool with others ordering that from Brian?

That looks like a real handy design, and Brian does some excellent work.

Oh yeah. I would be honored if somebody liked it enough to order one. I don't think he posted it though.

Love the design on that - looks like it will handle anything and everything.

Very nice, something of your own design should work like, well, something of your own design.

Gorgeous knife! What is the reason for an unpolished canvas handle? Better grip? Never heard of that kind of handle so had to ask. Obviously pretty new to knives but trying to learn.

A lot of makers will finish a handle by polishing it by hand. While this can look stunning, I have found that with a real user knife it pays to have a little traction. Along with the specs I requested, I asked Brian to leave the canvas micarta as unfinished as possible. So yes, it provides a better grip. It feels along the lines of the canvas on an ESEE but with some real body to it.

Nice looking knife. Brian does some sweet work, I thought he was taking a break from knife making for a while.

wow, very nice design, nice sheath and fast turnaround for a new design.

the design needs a name, something easier to remember than "the @500yards knife". not that there's anything wrong with that!

it's an interesting departure from the "Woodlore" style, scandi grind bushcrafter models, but looks VERY functional and capable.

not much room in the my knife budget and the moment, but i've been wanting to get a knife from Brian and this is as worthy of consideration as any of his other standard models that i like... and there's a few of those that i'm interested in.

so all i can say is well done, both on the design and production... and the turn around time is remarkable.

looking forward to some "in use" pics! (besides the potato, but that's a good thing too)
