Got a little "found" money and thought I'd finally get a custom. Looking for a scandi grind, carbon steel,>4" blade length woodcrafter type. Would like natural handle and sheath material. Sheath with pocket for stone and fire steel etc. $100-150 range. Thanx for your help--KV

Contact Christof at Koyote knives. He has a subforum here in the Makers forum. He makes a couple styles in the price and style range your looking for and the sheaths that come with his knives are fantastic.

X2

Christof's knives and Sierra's sheaths are great.

It might be slightly over your budget but I would suggest you look at Kosters 2009 Bushcraft run in CPM 3V. You only need to send $65.00 right now to get in the run and maybe save up the balance while he is building your knife. Go take a look at his forum.

,>4" blade length woodcrafter type.

Just for my clarification. You want a blade length greater than 4" to carry while hunting or fishing?

Or did you mean to type < less than 4" for general overall legal carry?

If the latter and you find a maker's standard model, but it is at 4" or a little above sharpened edge. You can ask if they are willing to shorten it up a bit.

I had my Hiker made with a 3 7/8" blade instead of John's standard 4" for Ct legal "anytime" carry.

Brian and Christof are both great at scandis and i think both of them work primarily with natural handles. On the sheath, if you want a stone-holder, i know seirra (christofs sheathmaker) would definatly be able to do it, and i am sure that if you ordered from brian he could work somthing out. it is hard to go wrong with any of the makers around here though.
