New DC pix, story and deal.

Well that's almost the khukuri that I have long been expounding over.:)
My buying days are gonna be pretty slim from here on out, but I still think the Kothimoda blade in a standard type rig would be an excellent seller!!!!
It's just a little heavier than the Chitlangi and would make one helluva workhorse IMO.:D

Yvsa,
I agree with you! That's one sweet looking knife! Maybe another one will come around again sometime? Or maybe Uncle Bill may put them into the regular line up, if there's an interest?

Ah ha! Now I see why the Duck is so dangerous.

Well if you got little Duckie, congrats! I have a Kothimoda which is pure silk to handle (usually cradle it once every 2-3 days or so when I need to feel a blade in my hand). :D

Dunno how exposure's handled with the DC, but pix looks "overexposed". Light blade and handle seem pretty washed out at this end.
It's actually a special "glow-in-the-dark" kothimoda...:D

SNARL!" STILL"PROWLIN & GROWLIN!Was a gentle RESEARCHER,UNTIL you all created THE DUCK!This little K has quinched!!my taste for a mere moment!

but look under the water and it isn't as ducky as it seems.

Tsimi seems to have forgotten the feeding frenzies before all the great whites got polite. Kind of like an English gentleman's club with all the sharks in dinner jackets. Veddy civilized, don't you know!

I'll talk to Pala about making this a standard offering. Problem is only Bura does this knife. He's got the monopoly and the production is limited.

OUAKIPUSS KATHIMODA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Didn't Steve McQueen star in that? Or was that the "Blob" I'm thinking of?

coming to a theater near you !!!

Personally I think if Pala would consider putting this type of Khukuri in the regular line up it would sell really well. I know that I'd buy one. Maybe Bura could teach another Kami to make them as well? I bet Sher would do a good job of it.

I don't see any problem as long as the knife is made with a wood or horn handle.
Any kami that can make an AK, GS, or Chitlangi could make this blade.
Mount it in steel, my preference, or brass and make it standard.
The only thing that makes it a Kothimoda is the silver laden scabbard.
Am I wrong about that?

Of course if anyone wants it with the bone handle and silver mounts then it would be more expensive, otherwise it looks to me that it should be about the same price as an AK.

I wouldn't want a bone handle for a chopper but some folks might. It's really not much harder to take care of than the horn, but it does need a bit more care, more than I would be willing to give a user.

We can talk it over with Pala and Bill. One thing though, is that Bura is the only one seasoning the horn, and I'm not sure he wants the others to know how he does it.
