Hi all, just had to come in and say I just got my first Demko, an AD 20.5. It’s the Taiwan AUS in grey. I am primarily a Spydie guy, but the allure of the Demko got me.
This is a nice light but stocky frame for sure.
The wharnie type blade will suit my daily uses perfectly. It fills my hand great and the shark lock is fantastic. I do have a Civivi vision, but so far I’m really loving the shark lock action better. Came sharp and centered. No blade movement and locks up solid. Smooth as silk.
No pics, but everyone knows what they look like. I can say for certain, this will NOT be my last Demko. I’m not against this steel at all. For a nice EDC it will be fine. Thanks to the Demko team for a cool and very versatile EDC.
Any suggestions from the Demko fans as to what I need next? Thanks.

Congrats and welcome.

What you need next is purely up to you and what you have in mind for your knives. Thankfully, there's a wide range available...but save your pennies, they get addictive.

good grab for your start. I think you'll like the aus10....its not a bad steel at all.

most of the shark lock knives are similar enough. boils down to blade thickness, blade length, blade shape, steel choice, grip shape, type of grips and where made. that covers the bulk of the differences in the ad20, ad20s, ad20i and ad20.5s. the newer shark-a-tacs are kinda different...I kinda prefer the ad20 looks wise a bit more...but its a good well thought out knife design nonetheless.

ive come to like the ad20s slimmer blade stock and finger grip ad20s the most myself. anyways, you'll figure out what ya like and dont real quick.....

Congrats and welcome! Hard to beat any 20.5!!! Good thing they make so many variations and sizes. Depending on your wants and needs, there are smaller models and much much larger models, lol.

One of the great things about this forum is that if you have a little patience, you can pick up a new or like new Demko model for a decent discount if it’s a normal production model. If you don’t love it, it’s easier to move along, and if you love it…even better, keep it!!!

Post a picture whenever you can and don’t say we didn’t warn you when you have a Demko collection a year from now. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
