The wood is from galleryhardwoods.com - gotta have the finest burls and stabilizing.
The customer wanted the hole in the tang thing, but I didn't think the wood would be strong enough where it curled around the hole. So, I made double bolsters.
Other than the plunge line there isn't a straight line on the knife. In my drawings straight lines on the bolsters looked terrible, so I had to do curved. I made filing guides for this knife, to make sure I had a tight fit (thanks for noticing tmickley). The guides in 1095 took a long time. However, now that I have a set I'm keeping them - very handy.
I have a make a matching knife, but now that I know what I'm in for I don't know if I'm up to it.
I'll tell you what, you couldn't get me to make another one for twice the price - Triple? heck yah.
that is one of the nicest knives I have seen, buckeye burl is one of my favorite materials, and you took a fairly simple design and turned it into something exceptional. I hope one of my knives comes together as nice as that one some day.

Hope you did that before HT, otherwise I diagnose you masochistic !! Nice knife, great job, fantastic handles. Someone'll be pleasd to get this ? Jason.
Steve,
That is very, very nice. All the lines on that just flow so nicely, the hole sets everything off. The fit and finish looks really good. You nailed it!
