Hello BF,

Birch Burl, Cocobolo, and Zebrawood are sold,

Osage Orange is still for sale.

I had posted a PSK thread about 5 or 6 months ago. It generated a lot of feedback and appreciated it. I decided to re-design the PSK by moving the handle area forward an 1/8 but keeping the OAL at 6 3/8, and a cutting edge of 2 1/8. I also lowered the front finger guard by a 1/16 or so and changed the radius of the contact wheel while grinding the rear guard to 4 inches, when doing stock removal.

It has created a thicker handle that is still allows for a solid grip (especially with your anchor fingers) and maybe sleeker look :) I also cut the PSK from 3/32 stock that was 1 inch top to bottom. I used O1 for the entire batch this time.

I also created a larger PSKX. OAL at 7 5/8 and a cutting edge of 3 1/4. The blank was cut from 1/8 stock that was 1 inch top to bottom. I used O1 for the entire batch.

I used a convex grind for my primary bevel all on four of my first knives and think I will stick with this for the rest, in this batch anyway. I had only ground two knives before with this type of bevel, but, really like to do it this way as well as use a knife with a full convex.

Pins on these four are SS. These O1 knives are heat treated, cryogenically treated, and tested to guareented Rc of 58-60 by Peters of Meadville, PA.

Hey Bull Winkle - really glad you like the MPM! Thanks.

Thanks for purchasing the Zebra, I will make a kydex sheath for it, with Tek Lok.

Superfuities, I am looking for more burl handle material. I can let you know when I get some. I ground out a total of 76 blanks between the PSK's and PSKX's. Thanks!

John,
A little off topic, but how does the PSKX differ from your MPS? It looks like pretty much the same dimentions. Just curious. Thanks

John, your PSK is an awesome design! I will keep me eye out for a micarta handled one. I like the burl but I like the ease of care of micarta.

Good Luck with your sale! Not that you need it your knives always go fast!

Thanks Gadget guy, I have some synthetics in the works. I should be posting them by the end of the weekend.

readyme, that's a good question. They are similar knives on the surface but totally different when you lif the hood. Steel is O1 on PSKX, 1095 on MPS, Grind in convex on PSKX and full flat on MPS, handles are very different on both. The PSKX in 1/2 inch longer with the addition being split between handle and blade.

Let me know if you have any other quetions, the Cocobolo and Osage are still for sale.

Thanks,
John
