Hello WSS,
I had posted a PSK thread about 5 or 6 months ago. It generated a lot of feedback and appreciated it. I decided to re-design the PSK by moving the handle area forward an 1/8 but keeping the OAL at 6 3/8, and a cutting edge of 2 1/8. I also lowered the front finger guard by a 1/16 or so and changed the radius of the contact wheel while grinding the rear guard to 4 inches, when doing stock removal.
It has created a thicker handle that is still allows for a solid grip (especially with your anchor fingers) and maybe sleeker look
I also cut the PSK from 3/32 stock that was 1 inch top to bottom. I used O1 for the entire batch this time.
I also created a larger PSKX. OAL at 7 5/8 and a cutting edge of 3 1/4. The blank was cut from 1/8 stock that was 1 inch top to bottom. I used O1 for the entire batch.
I used a convex grind for my primary bevel all on four of my first knives and think I will stick with this for the rest, in this batch anyway. I had only ground two knives befote with this type of belel, but, really like to do it this way as well as use a knife with a full convex.
Please let me know what you think.... John.
