Well, it's official!!! :)

I've never been so excited and freaked out at the same time in my life!!! :D

Usually realty outfits hire somebody to keep up the lawns at their listings... no such luck here! This was actually taken about a month ago...house wasn't ours yet, but I didn't want it to get worse. There's almost an acre of grass in front... not quite enough for hay so I broke out the Stihl weedeater  :)

Some hot girl volunteered to help mow it. ;) :D

Looking out the front... very "Northwest" :)

The previous owners had the house and shop built 4 years ago, then proceeded to just make a mess of it. So we bought a lot of garbage! :grumpy: Fortunately I have a swift clean-up crew. :)

Since there was about 20 full sized garbage bags of paper, boxes, OSB and pallets that were left out in the rain, and some crappy sawdust/glue furniture left inside, we decided to have a bonfire.

Here's the new home of Wheeler Custom Knives :) It definitely needs some color change and probably some more windows (there is a roll up door on the other end and another man door with two matching windows on the other side)... but it's 36'X48' of fully insulated and finished shop!!! 3.6 times the square footage I've been working in.

There's a lot of work to do here, the house, shop, and property need a lot of things changed to make it all our own... but it's a great start. :) :)

Congrats, Nick! Glad everything worked out well in the sales process. I'm getting ready to close on a new house tomorrow, so I know how you feel!

Unfortunately I won't have a 36' x 48' shop, though... Lucky man!

That is awesome! I remember the feeling when they handed me the keys of the first house I bought. Great sensation. And it's great that they decided to throw in an old pickup for you as well! ;)

Take LOTS of pictures as you set that shop up and post them here. That way we can all live vicariously through you. :D

Congrats again, and God bless!

Congrats, bro. Really makes me feel good to know that you scored a win on this one!

Very Nice Nick, You should be able to make knives 3.6 times faster now! or is that 3.6 times better? I need a bigger place:D

Man , that looks real nice Nick . Thank you for posting a pic of the address and keys , I will start filing out a spare set tonight ;) need to get them done before those new dogs get big enough to eat me .

Looks like tons of potential there. Are you going to have agoraphobia in that shop though? We've seen pics of the current setup, you might get lost in this one. Maybe a safety line to the door? :)

OK, enough with the photos of the hot babe mowing the grass in a bikini and the painting of the family room.....we want photos of the shop.

Congratulations, Nick! I remember how excited I was to move into my new shop. Nowadays I'm excited when there's a path open from one end to the other. (it's a little crowded) LOL

Thanks guys!!! :)

It's a bit overwhelming, but it feels great overall. I have been dead tired, working on the house until 2am most days. It took me about 7 hours to push-mow the front lawn the other day because it was about a week overdue and it was the first time using the bag attachment on the mower--- so I could only make about half a pass before I had to stop and empty the damn bag. The biggest issue is the previous owners only doled out enough $$$ to the dirt work contractor to install the huge septic system... but not to properly backfill and grade the yard... so it's REALLY REALLY bumpy/lumpy/uneven. Getting fill dirt and an excavator in to smooth that all out, will be a (hopefully) not too distant project.

Learned something new--- cleaning out gutters on a two story home is a PITA. ;) :)

We don't have internet access there yet, and I've gotta say it's weird not checking on the forum 18 times a day!!! :foot: :o :foot: :p :D

Thanks very much for the well wishes guys!!! :)

Congrats. We're doing the same thing here, just bought and getting moved in. but I only WISH I had a shop/man cave like yours. ;)

Lawn issues here too - minor ones compared to yours - but I have an 11-year-old who's earnin' his keep working it.

Enjoy this moment, take pics, and get that shop running. I need me a celebration knife for our new home.
