New digs....

When i make it out that way, i would like to come visit...Might have to come "Find" you lost in your new shop. Really nice find, congrats again!

Another BTW- My shop is all stuffed in a 24X26' "two car" garage. It's way too tight. I am dreaming up a 48'X60' shop... oh, and a way to pay for it! LOL

Ran across this in an old thread....:D

Haha! I thought that looked like something I'd say, LMAO.

I was wrong on the initial dimension too... the current shop is only about 22X24 working space. I would have liked the even bigger 40X60.... but it was a pipe dream at best, and this 36X48 is going to be awesome for me (at least that's what I'm saying right now, lol). I'm still having a hard time believing it's real. We've been working on the house and I've been going back and forth to the "old shop" so I don't even have any of my tools in the new shop yet. It's weird to go from one shop where I could make practically anything, to being at the house and not being sure if I have a pair of needle nose or the right screwdriver for some oddball job. :foot: :)

My sister came down and saw the shop, which is currently still looking a lot like an apartment with an attached 19.5X36 garage (the hot work area) and kept asking what I was going to do with the apartment side.

"Um... that building is my shop."

"Yea, I know, but what about the apartment?"

"No... THAT building is my shop... ALL of it."

"But it's HUGE... it's WAAAAY bigger than where your stuff is now."

"Um... yea... have you seen all the $hi* I have?!?!?" :D :p

The good thing is that with the way the building is situated, I can pretty easily add on another 24' in length when the time comes. ;) :D

Is it weird that I'm threatening bodily harm to those who want to "store stuff in the shop....with all that extra space you have now." ????

Well, it's official!!! :)

I've never been so excited and freaked out at the same time in my life!!! :D

Usually realty outfits hire somebody to keep up the lawns at their listings... no such luck here! This was actually taken about a month ago...house wasn't ours yet, but I didn't want it to get worse. There's almost an acre of grass in front... not quite enough for hay so I broke out the Stihl weedeater  :)

Some hot girl volunteered to help mow it. ;) :D

Looking out the front... very "Northwest" :)

The previous owners had the house and shop built 4 years ago, then proceeded to just make a mess of it. So we bought a lot of garbage! :grumpy: Fortunately I have a swift clean-up crew. :)

Since there was about 20 full sized garbage bags of paper, boxes, OSB and pallets that were left out in the rain, and some crappy sawdust/glue furniture left inside, we decided to have a bonfire.

Here's the new home of Wheeler Custom Knives :) It definitely needs some color change and probably some more windows (there is a roll up door on the other end and another man door with two matching windows on the other side)... but it's 36'X48' of fully insulated and finished shop!!! 3.6 times the square footage I've been working in.

There's a lot of work to do here, the house, shop, and property need a lot of things changed to make it all our own... but it's a great start. :) :)
Nice shop, but where's the Studebaker?;)

A guy down the road has one!!! ;) :D Maybe living on the road with that name will be a good push to actually get one ;) :)

Yeah they were a cool car. How many of you guys know what one looked like. I'm old enough.:D

I was thinking more along the lines of the trucks... I saw one much like this '47 at a rod run when I was in high school. :D

Congratulations! I just went through a similar thing, except that my new shop (although much nicer than what I had) is not nearly as nice as yours. If I ever happen to get to your side of the country, I want a tour of the facility. Feel free to let me know if you happen to be in Western NY. Looks great, I don't envy you the work involved in moving. Have fun.
