We had to send Jessie to a new home a while back.... :(

Anyway...we've been on the lookout for a new dog to join the house.

Finally found one.

Here he is...and the kids decided to keep the name the breeders gave him:

Mity Dog

He's an honest-to-goodness true-blue dyed-in-the-wool thru-and-thru Jack Russel Terrier...inside and out!

Scrappy, Scruffy, Peppy, Excitable, Trainable, Attentive, Jump-in-your-Lap, perfect-for-a-house-full-of-little-boys Dog.

We got him from Leap-n Jack

He's 10 months old already and pretty much full grown.

And he has been a great addition to our wild-n-crazy home...all 4 boys love him....!

So many people tried to talk us out of a Jack Russell...."Oh, they're wild"...."They are too active"...."Hyper"...."Destructive"...."Hole Digging Crazies"...."Mess-makers"....and so on.

But the funny thing is....all of the above applies to my kids already...:D :foot:....in our home he's just "another one of the boys"...he fits right in. My wife is a stay-at-home mom...and my 2 youngest are not in school yet...so there's no end to the attention the dog will get.

The first day, the kids tried to mishandle him a little...and he let them know quickly not to....;).....and since then they've had "an understanding".

Hopefully over the next few weeks/months...the training we are doing will settle in for good and he'll be good to go. He's got a great bark...and, like any terrier, is not afraid to use it!

Give a warm welcome to Mity Dog!

My family loves him!
She who must be obeyed says "get that dog off my sofa"!-LOL
FYI-We have Basset hounds partial to sofas.

Beautiful Jack Russell! Rough coat, too...you don't see many of those! They're a hoot!

Now that's great Dan.. I always loved them for their energy and intelligence.

My pussycat Kees says Hi!

congrats on the new pup.nothing like having a great dog.he will become one of your best friends which is pretty cool since real friends arent sold at wal-mart.

A few friends have Jack Russell's and love them...just so long as they are given tasks and jobs to do. They are sooooooo smart that they'll play tricks on you if they aren't engaged throughout the day. Your boys will surely give that critter some stuff to think about. Awesome dogs! Enjoy him!

 Can't think of a better addition to a household!

My dog, Spike, barks a warm welcome !

Here he's with my oldest boy

Damn. He looks spunky! Fun times!

Congrats! (little late i know...sorry :o ) JRT are bad ass! I own one my self. Female named Bella. Good little girl she is!

Our little Mity Dog is quite the pup!

and we are happy to have him...quite the JRT

One of our neighbors had a JRT, and he was a HOOT! My male PB, Otis and him would wrestle for hours in the front yard. Otis would grab him, and chunk him 10 or 12 feet, he would hit the ground running back for more. A good JRT is right up there with Patterdales, and non-hippo PBs in my book. And here is a shot of Mr. Otis Grottel:

Dan, that is one adorable pup!! And with four active boys, you won't have to worry about JRT hyperactivity - human and canine should do a good job wearing each other out!

My beagle was introduced to one of his favorite toys by a JRT at our local dog park - the Air Kong Squeaker tennis ball (here's an example). In case you aren't familiar with these, you might want to pick up a few - I know Mity Dog will love it!

Y'all enjoy your new family member!

Thanks for the link!

Mity Dog's favorite toy by far is a "furry bone" toy with a squeaker inside. Loves it...takes it everywhere...inside/outside. Buries/Hides it...then "finds" it again...:D
