New dog...

How about "Tail-Light?" He has that cute little white tip at the end of his tail! He can light the way wherever you go in your travels together.

Cute little guy!

+1 for Rufus, or Gunther. I've always wanted a pet named Gunther for some odd reason.

J.D.

Edit: By the way, thats a very cute pup you got there. He'll make a great friend for many years to come.

I've always been partial, or at least wanted, a dog named Dawg.

Buck would work though...

You know, a dog doesn't really care what his name is. A dog doesn't know what his name means in english. Stupid Idiot is a fine name in the dog's mind. But dogs do seem to instinctively want a name. To a dog, a name means that someone cares about me and I have a special place. A name is a special gift that can only come from a human, so the name symbolizes that special relationship.

Nice puppy (aren't they all :)).

How about Wolfie?

All my dogs have had two syllables in their names. That automatically sets the tone of your voice when you address them.

Shadow, Nicki, Cleo.

Cute dog! More pictures would definitely be welcome.

I like the name Blanco.

pretty pup. cool thing in NC, they do not list hybrids as breed of dogs. i was under the impression that 100% and hybrids were illegal in NC but i was wrong.

Sort of. 100% purebred stock Red Wolf or Eastern Timber Wolf requires a special permit from the state. Any hybrid or other wolf-breed is allowed.

years ago a guy from up north moved next to my friends house. he brought a wolf hybrid down and was great with people. huge dog with HUGE paws. after the dog was around 4yrs old the hunting instinct came out. they had to put it down bc it was killing the local farm animals.. no shit. beautiful dog though. train him good but be careful those boys know how to kill with efficiency

It's pretty irresponsible to let a wolfdog roam like that. It's really not in their best interest. I live pretty far out, but I still keep mine in a large, secure fenced area.

ETA: I should add, all of the livestock killing I've ever seen has been on the part of domestic dogs (boxers seem really bad for it, and german shepherds).

it was something he had just started doing. kind of out of the blue..he got caught and they took pics of him leaving the scene of the crime. the owner was pretty close to that dog. it went with him everywhere. i guess he trusted him too much? dunno.. i hate to see a good dog go though. he was pretty cool.

got more pics of this little beaut?

Well, being good with his handler/owner there is one thing. Being good to a goat when he's alone at night is something else. You can't get mad at a wolf for doing what a wolf does. I'll try to get some more pictures, I just never take the camera with me. I took the one with my phone.

Judgin by your stars and bars and location I'd go with Arlee (as in R. Lee)

I had a hybrid Wolf and never had a problem, good dog.
