"New" Doomsday Bunker, instead of Doomsday Prepper

Nothing like showing the most extreme types, that way the sheeple think anyone with a 3 day food supply is a tinfoil hat wearing type who believes in conspiracy theories.

Back in the day, the Government would issue ideas on how to Bunker. :D

Wife: Frank I told this wouldn't work.
Husband: Pick up your feet kids. I believe someones in our house, because someone flushed up stream.

:D

I didn't like the American Chopper/Sons of Guns/History or Discovery Reality Show vibe they were putting in the show, especially the small brushfires or business crisis they probably contrived to make it "interesting". Plus, the motion sensor thing the guy was working on? You can buy online a similar USB powered one that launches Nerf missiles (cheap, too). The military guy is spending almost half a million dollars on a bunker for his family - is he going to use it to charge tours for his business? The client whose generators were stolen - that's already a red flag that he just built his bunker in a place with enough lowlifes to guarantee his place will be a magnet for raids, theft, attacks, you name it. I probably won't be inclined to watch it next time.

Those old Govt. drawings are great! I love in the first one how the wife is cooking and watching the kids while dad works on one of his little projects in the corner. Those shelters look too small for a stress free family life. Wifey is gonna start nagging dad that he is not spending enough time with Timmy and then dad is gonna have to snap and kill and eat them both. :D

EXACTLY RIGHT. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I haven't got a doomsday bunker, unlike all the cool kids.

Yeah, they sure like to make people that think outside the box look stupid, don't they. I think NatGeo would have been MUCH better off having a series that shows why so many houses get obliterated during wind events/tornado's. Help figure out an economical (if thats even possible) way to make houses stronger. Or, even do a series on storm shelters---seeing as thousands have lost thier lives & homes to them. I'm just sayin. That would be much more benificial i'd think.

Understandable, as long as he remembered to pack the hot sauce.........

Is it me or all we need is a shovel to get everyone to give up in the shelter. I looked at a few shelters on the net and each one of them has an air outlet that goes up... Now they get great filtering for the air and they need lots of it to run the stove and over... All we need to do it bury the air inlet and shoot them all when they come out for air.. Now all the generators run on gas and need lots of air. with no electricty there would be no air.... What the rule says 3 min for air 3 days for water and 3 weeks for food.. You cant just bury your self underground and stay there.

Not just you, I was thinking the same thing. While these underground shelters are the only thing that will save you from radioactive fallout...they are far from ideal if you are just trying to protect yourself from people. Block the air inlet...they come out or pass out from CO2 poisoning.

Also, I noticed something else. This guy Shea....his company is called 88 Tactical and his son is named Klaus? A little coincidental maybe but sounds like a little neo nazi thing there.

Its not that hard to get anyone out of an underground shelter. Even those shown on tv. You have to have fresh air to breath, vent for toilets, fresh air for generators & exhaust. Gasoline going down the tubes would get thier attention real quick. Ever see what 5 gal of gas does after it sets & fumes permeate & are then ignighted. It ain't pretty. Plug the tubes if your more humane. Dig down to the top of shelter. Only thing bullet proof was the door, not the top/sides. Underground shelters are temporary at best. At some point you gotta draw the line & ask the hard questions.

Twinstick im with you on that one. I would just turn off the gen and make sure the door dont open more then a crack so they to get out one at a time with no body armor to fit in the door. It beats breaking into the bunker after they are dead. Two molotove coktails would open up a tank real fast. Thats how they done it in WWII. There escape hatches are about 15-20ft away from the bunker. how about 200 yards away from the bunker to realy give you a chance to run away.
