Hey guys, I've been looking for a new edc suggestions. As of now I just have three knives, kershaw chive, spyderco ambitious and dragonfly 2. I prefer smaller edc and have been considering picking up a kershaw cryo the smaller version because I have small hands but I am unsure if I want that heavy of a knife. Anyways, I'm open to all suggestions.

SOG flash II... It has a couple of sizes (I have the standard which is a 3.5" blade, the size down is 2.75 IIRC, and there's a bigger one...) it's ~$40, and has a lifetime warrenty.

I too prefer smaller EDCs and found the Cryo too heavy. The Skyline and Delica are about as large (3") and heavy (2.5oz) as I care to EDC.

For Office EDC, especially around sheeple, the Kershaw OD2 is a delight at 2.25", 1.4oz. It's a flipper but opens so fast you'd think it was an auto.

Amplitude, Cryo Hinderer, Eros SS Large, Chill, Nura 3.0, Skyline, unknown

The Amplitude is a neat little knife, the Cryo is too heavy for me, I edc the Eros, bought the Chill just to try polishing the blade/hardware, Nura 3.0 got returned because it had a whiskey delta detent though I loved everything else about it, Skyline is a skyline, the last one is a Kershaw sort of a Lifter but it was in a gift pack so no official name.

Opinel, light and can shape the handles to fit your hand.
SAK, handy little knife with a myriad of options.
Rat 2, decent steel, good ergos though that is dependant on hand size and preferences.

Open to fixed blades?
Check out the Becker BK11 or the new BK23.

If I may suggest the following:

CRKT: Swindle (Sandvik version), Mini My Tighe, M16 ER series

ESEE: Avispa, Zancudo

Kershaw: Amplitude, Blur, Chive, Cryo G10, Leek, Zing

Rat knife

Spyderco: Cat, Manix 2 (The Manix 2 is above your price goal but it is a very nice knife)

Victorinox: Cadet (Alox), Farmer, Pioneer, Soldier

I considered a Cryo but feel the Zing is a better knife. Better ergonomics for small hands and much better blade steel if you can find one that is US made. I have to admit the Cryo is a nice knife for the money. IMHO, the G10 model is the best.

Boker Subcom or Wharcom if you want a sub 2" blade. I use my Wharcom as a money clip quite a bit.

Boker Kalashnikov Mini

Quite a bit from Kershaw and CRKT as mentioned before.

+1 SOG Flash 1 or 2

I have to say, I love my BK11. It's in my pocket everyday and kicks my other high end knives to the safe.
Why?
It's inexpensive we'll start there. Great blade length. Great blade geometry. Sharp as s@#t edge. Easy to resharpen. Will fit in any pocket comfortably. Not heavy. Has a beer opener on pommel. Can beat the life out of it and will take it. Great warranty. Great company.
I just don't know where to stop.
You can do light battoning with it. Strike a magnesium rod off the spine and get a fire instantly. Pry with it.
Folders are good and have their place but once you get your hands on this, you won't find a need for much else.

Just be sure to get a better sheath cause the one they ship with it sucks a#s and get some handles for it.
