I'm looking to upgrade my edc folder....I carry a cheap benchmade vex and like the size, but its too hard to open....
Here are some considerations, but any recom. from you guys would be great would like something from benchmade,spyderco,sog...under $150, black
These are what I've been leaning towards

Spyderco Military Black/Plain SC36GPBK
Benchmade 522 Presidio ultra Axis Lock, Black Blade
sog Flash II (Black TiNi)
H&K (Benchmade) Snody designed Tanto folder, black

thanks

tuff question. The Millie is a great EDC, but I do love the axis lock. What about a kershaw spec bump? You can pick one up for about $90 - $100

I'd recommend the Spyderco Paramilitary. It's close in size to the Vex. It's available in all black.
CPM S30V steel, G10 scales. Compression Lock. Made in Golden, CO.
Lightweight. Full flat ground blade. It's also one of the easiest knives to open that I've handled. It's also pretty easy to close one-handed with one motion. Backlocks, Framelocks, and Linerlocks I've always got to do 2 motions: Unlock and move the blade, then move my fingers out of the way and close it. This one I can fully close with my fingers out of the way (right-handed).

My vote would be for the Spyderco as well from the knives you mentioned. Also I just saw a few ZT 350's for sale on Ebay for $129 shipped. If my Lone Wolf Harsey T2 wasn't giving me fits I'd also highly recommend that knife, but I'm kinda reserved on doing so right now.

was looking at the spyderco paramilitary, but thought it was too small??
am I wrong.....

sorry.....looks like its close to the size of the benchmade vex....7 7/8.....does seem like the price varies though 119 on ebay.....149 knifework/newgraham??

From the list I would go with the Benchmade H&K in the large version. If I was reccomending one, I would look at the ZT 350 that the board is all abuzz about, or for heavy-heavy duty, the ZT0200 or ZT0500 MUDD, as both can be had under the $150 mark!:) They are larger knives than what you are carrying and heavier knives also.

You may want to look at the Benchmade 940! Nice size blade in a small package. Also the new Benchmade 890 is real nice and fast too! GOOD Luck! Kevin :D

I gotta say Spyderco  On your list go for the military !
I got a Spyderco Endura4 Waved PE & I really like it  Very fun to open w/ the wave ! One more that no one has spoke of is BLADETECH, I have the ProHunter Extreme & LOVE IT, This is my Personal Fav. EDC !
Here is a pic of my 2 favorite knives ! -

Here is the Blade Tech Pro-Hunter Extreme -

The BladeTech is S30V w/ G-10 handles & line lock
The Endura is VG10 w/FRN handles & SSliners & backlock
Both are very solid knives

the millie and flash II are both nice knives but theres a huge difference in size. if youre going to get the millie, you might want to check out the new orange version

i think i've narrowed it down to three.....

spyderco para military -plainedge- black
zero tolerance 350
Benchmade H&K Snody Axis Folder, G-10 Handle, Tanto, PlainEdge- black

Go with the spyderco. You wont be dissapointed. The ZT is sweet, but i think the AO is un necessary, and it is more apt to break (the torsion bar). more parts=more risk for breakage.

Lol, I've never understood this criticism. If your torsion bar breaks, you are left with...... a manual knife, which is what you are recommending as an alternative.

I have both the Spyderco Military and the ZT 200. Between the two I would choose the Military as it's a LOT lighter and more than sturdy enough in my opinion.
Here's an interesting and very nicely designed alternative: the Fox Profili:
