Like the title says which would everyone choose between the two. Roughly the same size. Same steel. Compression Lock over Slipjoint. Not going to be a real hard use EDC. Thanks

i would still get the para, i much prefer the handle, and the digicam is just great.

Let me start off by saying that I dont own either, but it seems to me that is an apples to oranges comparison. I always understood the pm to be a higher quality knife than the uk. Now, maybe that is just my impression and it is wrong, but I would think that going for the para is better if your looking for quality.

If you're looking for a light use gentlemans type folder, I'd go with the UKPK. Never been a fan of the drop point version, but it's more ergonomic and will ride much better in the pocket. I usually carry a UKPK or Caly3 at work, the low-ride wire clip makes it very discreet.

Thanks...guys. I really like the foliage and it's so hard to come by a Para in D2 w/ foliage G10. I think the Para might be winning this out.

I have a D2 para and a UKPK with the leaf shaped blade. I wind up carrying the Para more often.

The UKPK comes out when I need to carry something in a more low profile setting.

I think it comes down to the environment. If you work in an office and are often around NKP's then the UKPK drop point might be a good choice. It's also a bit cheaper in price while still offering the same steel.

If you plan on using the knife outside of work, or if you workplace is knife-friendly, then I'd probably pick the Para. The addition of a lock is very comforting when you may just have to use the knife hard once in a while. The digicam is better than the plain foliage green, IMO as well. The clip makes the Para easier on the draw but sacrifices low-viz carry.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one, really. ;)

For my personal needs, I would have to EDC the UKPK because of its size. However, I much prefer the Para.

Yeah, I guess it depends on the environment. I edc a digi para, and the end of it really does stick right out to any one that cares to look, but I love it. If I was in an office that would not be my edc.

If the knife is only going to be used for everyday cutting chores such as opening boxes or mail, picking splinters, and various slicing then I would go with the UKPK. The para would just be overkill. Of course you could just buy both and satisfy the entire situation of desire vs function.

digicam, it is my favorite, and it is unique, how many digicam knives do you see? and it is just great looking! :D

I really like my regular UKPK, it's one of the knives I reach for most. Very handy size and lightweight too. Very comfortable knife and definitely a quality item.

Had a Para in D2 as well but I ended up selling it, nothing wrong with the knife at all, but it just didn't do all that much for me. Good knife all in all but I guess I didn't have a clear role for it so it didn't become a keeper.

Hard to give clear advice, it depends a lot on personal taste and preference. So, easy answer: get both. :D

For me, it would be the DPUKPK. Easier to open and close, has the (to me) nicer wire clip, and isn't going to come out in a new and improved UKPK 2.0 later this year.

Thinner blade too.

+1. I have both and like them both but for all these reasons I carry the DPUKPK MUCH more often (though I actually find it a bit more difficult to open and close - that spring is pretty stiff). It's a great knife. It's quality is AT LEAST up to that of the Para. I LOVE the DP blade shape. For light use EDC there is no decision here, for me. And make no mistake, the DPUKPK can handle it's share of work too. It's no sissy knife. DPUKPK HANDS DOWN!
