New EDC-Paramilitary or UK Pen(Drop Point) Your thoughts

The UKPK is one of my favorite knives. Especially the drop point one.

The Para IS my favorite knife.

Can't go wrong with either...:thumbup:


- love those full-serrated Paras, 5.56....gotta get me one of those. Just seeing that blade makes me wanna go shred something.
 
I guess the one thing thats holding me back on the Para is the ergo's. I haven't held one for myself so I can't say, but I hear that it's cramped in the handle. The UK looks a little better. By far the new Para is hands down the best of the them, but not sure on the wait time for one. Whats your thoughts on the handle of the current Para's.

I have large hands, albeit slender.

Notice the hair has been shaved too. :)

Black blends with clothes better, I find myself wearing camo pants/shorts more though to match my digi-cam Para

Do you prefer the satin finish over the black?
 
I find in no way the that the handle is cramped on the para. that is one of the main reasons I like it so much, edc blade size and a full size handle. (I'm a 6' tall construction worker) You can totaly get a grip on a para.

The black looks better, but I have found that my satin Paras have a smoother action. Tough call.

The DLC coating is really not necessary unless used in a tactical role.
 
I bought black on black. The black w/satin blade just looks too cheap and kinda boring to me,(looks like my other spydies)and for an EDC blade, camo is a bit much but it would be my second choice. Ive found that a black blade isnt as noticeable as satin, and doesnt scare as many sheeple. JMHO.
 
I have four Paras. I carry the spyderedge the least and the black on black plain edge the most. I love the Paras and I am really looking forward to the Para 2 in Orange G-10!

I have both, my Para is the Foliage Green D2 version.

Both have been exclusive EDC for a time.

The UKPK is still in the rotation for EDC the Para is in the Spyderpac.

although things are subject to change.

you made a great choice, the CPM D2 steel will really perform well, all it needs now is a lowrider :eek: ;)

I really need to decide if I'm going to use it. Don't know if Spyderco will do CPM D2 in the new Para. Might have to get a new one if I like the Para for my user.
 
Spyderco will not be doing D2 anytime soon according to the other forum. D2 supplies are very limited.
 
The para for sure, if not for the looks alone.

I also prefer a locking knife for EDC. Yeah yeah, "if you use your knife properly you don't need a lock"...but I don't always use my knife properly.
