Wow, hell of a way to wake up a sleeping thread!:thumbdn:

You are not the designer, You are Thiefs. I have waited long enough, now lets make this personel. I desinged this grinder in 2008. I have all the cad drawing, and pictures to prove it plus, knifemakers who bought the grinder. I suggest anyone selling this design, contact me, wilhurley@yahoo.com, or I will take whatever action that I have to take. I never dreamed so many knifemakers who, take pride in orginial designs, steal someone elses, and pass it off as theirs. You all prob steal knife designs also. I think it would be in your best interest to remove the plans and kits from you websites, and maby credit the person who came up with the design. If anyone has anyquestions, feel free to contact me wilhurley@yahoo.com.

Thanks Stephen Bader, or whoever came up with this design before you...

Ummmm, that's pretty much what I was thinkin'.....

Look, Jamie sent me an email, and I am ok with the situtation. Thief, was pretty harsh, and I'm sorry for that. But when you guys are using the same bolt patterns ect. I just thought it was wrong. I know its similar to a bader 3, but I designed it from the ground up, I had never seen a badar in person. Also I'm ok with Jamie selling the kits. I'm not selling them anymore. I also refunded everyone via paypal. If I missed anyone, which I don't think I did. I would refund. But they need to provide proof. I just want to clear my name, and all you people on the cheated the person out of this and that bandwagon, please get proof before you do that, please. Anyone can say anything on the internet.

I erased my original post with the thief comment. (so if you guys delete it, than its gone) Nobody know my side of the story, did I stop answering email, Yes. Because I was so aggrivated with people on here saying I was a thief, I also lost money, I had a couple grinders ship, before I did a mass refund. Then there were a bunch, who jumped the he stole from me bandwagon,(I wish I sold that many!) I think just to get free grinder plans, or a cheap kit. I'm kinda glad the kit is out there now and the plans, All I really wanted to do was offer a good grinder at a good price, so some of us poor boys, could afford it. I know Jamie and them put work in changing the plans, and modifying them, and I applaud their work. I just really want to clear my name and get a little small credit for help with the design, because, some of them look so close to the ones I made its hard to tell them apart. You can email me wilhurley@yahoo.com

Bladsmith,
This is what I mean, people saying stuff they don't know from fact. Did you email me? Or are you assuming, You know what that does. I'm just telling my side, just like they told their side. Also the last page of the thread is my side of the story.

Stacy assumed nothing, and did just state facts.

He gave people here a link to the birth of the EERF grinder.

There are plenty of dissatisfied folks there, and even more happy ones now that the world has the EERF.

Brian, all I'm saying is how some damn proof, that I ripped people off. If I can get it I will post copy of refunds from paypal. Only 2 grinder kits were sent out, i refunded everyone else. I believe the 2 who recieved them, were refunded as well. Then 100 people came out of the woodwork and said I ripped them off (I wish, I'd be rich). I believe this was the motive to get a cheaper grinder or free plans (based on my design) Also I said I was glad that the eerf grinder is available. All I said was it was pretty much copied from my design. (bolt holes, pattern, ect) that is a fact!! So a copy is a copy. I'm glad the design is out there, I like some of the changes and mods. So stop attacking. I agree its a good thing, because all I had was good intentions, I was just trying to make a good grinder at a fair price. I think I've explained it all. I've looked at the plans, they are Very close. That's all I'm saying so attack if you will, but go back and read the pages were they disassemble the grinder and blue print bolt by bolt, this is a fact. Now go copy a knife design!

Not real sure what you are talking about as I am the designer of the EERF grinder. Whatever you designed I wish you all the best and many more happy customers. Me I have no customers, I merely give the design away to whomever wants to use it.
Much Love.
CHris W.

PS For those not in the know, you too can have the plans to my EERF grinder.(EERF=FREE spelled backwards) for FREE. Yes I said FREE, I charge nothing and will never charge anything for these plans. I want nothing other than every knifemaker to have one of these grinders and not pay anyone but there local steel cutting shop to make this grinder. Make yours today.

PS Will glad your back and thanks for letting more people know about my wonderful grinder.

I have a suggestion for an upgrade. May I??

Thanks.

It would be awesome if it could be rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise for the horizontal grind. Some sort of plate with a 90degree channel for a locking bolt.

Just a thought.

Nice design that EERF. I have to figger out do I wanna buy one or build one.

Really? I think this is the quote to which you are referring:

Hell if it will help anyone who got screwed I can probably cad the parts just off the photos. Should not be hard, anyone interested. You can then have them cut at your local steelyard or anyone else who has a computer controlled laser or waterjet cutter.
Chris

To come in here a year later and claim that they stole your design by reverse-engineering is completely wrong. Did you apply for a patent? If not, then looking at it and building your own with improvements is perfectly legal. Not to mention that when Chris laid it out in CAD, we was looking at pictures, not actual pieces or plans. To go along with that, he could have just as easily been looking at a Bader.

I can only state for a fact that whatever your original design was, it has been improved upon considerably since that time.

Depending on your spring, it can be done. You would have to unbolt the platten though. Drill new holes using the corners of the mouth on Smiley and extend the platen out. This will hold the platen horizontal. The platen needs to be out far enough so that the tracking wheel is below the top of Smiley. But, I think it can be done. Of course you don't have to drill new holes, but it will be more stable if you do.

Look, I don't understand why no one can admit measurements were taken and copied from the original grinder, that's all I'm saying. I also think some great improvements were made. No one seems to get that, I'm ok with it, but pull the panties out of your crack and be a man and admit the truth. I know you are defending friends, I'm not attacking, I have said my peace. I Repeat I'm ok with everything, Jamie says where the design came from, and he seemed like a truly nice person. Please read this, it's ok. Whatever, I know the truth. So Everyone relax, believe what you want, I don't care, I'm done.
