Has anyone disassembled their new model Endura?I would like to take the blade out, and, polish it to a mirror finish.I just wondered if I would be able to reassemble the Knife.

I have taken apart an Endura4. It was a total pain in the neck to put back together, but I did it. It just requires patience, seven hands, and the proper tools.

I've also taken apart my E4 and reassembly deffinately isn't as easy as the delica thread leads you to believe. It can certainly be done, though.

I took mine apart two weeks ago and blackened the blade and lock spring with Gunkote. Disassembly/assembly seemed fairly simple. The only thing marginally tough was hooking the lock spring back up.

If you take the side of the handle the spring goes in, assemble the blade to it and contain this in a padded vice, it is fairly easy to slide the spring into place with a needlenose pliers. The other side of the handle can then be screwed on. Anyway, I have done it three times and got everything back together with no problem.

Cliff355: Can you post a picture of the blackened Endura? I would be really interested. Thanks.

I don't have a picture handy at the moment, but it looks just like a factory job and seems to be a durable finish. Here is the stuff:

I have been using it to blacken the white metal clips on some of my Spydercos and the finish holds up well on them. So far I have cut up alot of cardboard with the blackened Endura and the black seems to be holding at least as well as the factory finish on Benchmades. The neat thing is that if it wears and starts to look ugly, you can touch it up.
