New England Area Hammer

It's the first Damascus I've made
I got mine a little thin BUT I think it's going to be OK.
I've been tinkering on it for a couple of hours today
I got the blade all most done all diff, heat treated and
ready for a handle and some fittings,
I think some mastodon on this one.
:D
I want to mention to the guys, that wasn't there
and that did not know that,
with the new club starting you don't have to be
from or in NewEngland to join
this I think will be one of the Good ones.

I'll get a web page going as soon as we nail the name down
any thoughts On it guys??
  The NewEngland ????

George I'm bad with names, can we get all the names, addy's,
e,mail addy's, and nicknames on the ones we know that
want in on the club,
hey also I'd like a copy of the paper
the pictures and write up is going to be in .
.just tell me how much to get it to me..?
It's going to be good..:D

WE don't know what the due's will be as of yet so as of
right now we'd like to just know who wants to join up
or thinks they do.
New makers should get a lot out of this club too,
Good tips from some very good makers joining up..

Man, i wish i was back in CT!!! i'll be back in late may, by may 31 at the latest.

Boy, knifemakers sure are an ugly and unruly bunch :p :p :p

I'm sure it was a lot of fun...the ones we have over here are always a great time. I wish I were closer so that I could have come.

Thanks for posting the pics and notice of a great time. Keep those shin-digs rolling :D

Dan: That is a good point, that it is open membership, you do not even have to live in the US. Anyone can join. Joe is better with names
than I. I'll get together with him and send you a listing Gary I mean Dan. I could of not pull this off without the help of Joe, Jay, Peter and the dude with the hammer Wolf. Thanks Guys

Here's the start of the web site. :barf:
If excepted as the Name.

Indian George,
Can't thank you enough, Lots of good people, knives, advise and food. Now I have a new blade to work on too.

Thanks also to all of you who encouraged me to continue this hobby, after seeing some of your work, I wanted to sneak out the back with my junk. (I brought knives 1 thru 3 with me)

If you missed this one you missed a lot.

Thanks again,

Hi Paul
I didn't see any junks there. and it was good to meet you.
I see stepping stones to better things to come,
be it the first one or the 1000th one, the true knife maker
gets better as he goes on,
there's always room to improve, I know I need to.
keep up the good work. later

Polock; I agree with Dan.
I had a humbling experience yesterday, I went over George Dailey's shop. This is going to be cool I am going to show him how to build a press and a forge and he is going to show me how to build folders.:D :D :D

George,
If you show me how to make a hydraulic press, I'll show you how to make Alka Seltzer so after you have your pepper relish you won't burn a hole in your stomach.

George,
I was talking to my old metal shop teacher from High School today about building a Press, He told me he might has some of the parts I would need, Piston, etc. Do you have a list Of parts or drawing I could get from you so I can figure what I need to look for? Thanks.:p

Rene
I just sent an email to everyone (17 guys and growing)
for the vote on the name, please let me know if you got it OK
it's from a list I started for the new club Thanks

How's it going NE Hammerers? Looks like you guys had a fun time out there. Question - when you were forging the cable damascus, was that borax I saw in the pan? Thanks.

Tim
