I know of:
scott tanguay
lamont coombs
nick rossi

Who am I missing? I tend to enjoy local makers that I can meet in person so who else lives around this neck of the woods?

Any and all help is appreciated....

There are a ton of makers in new england. Mace is in new england, George Dailey, Paul Jarvis, JD Smith, etc. There are also a whole ton of non JS / MS smiths in the area as well. What area of New England do you hail from?

Bah, I was just looking up the guys you listed. I'm bitter now, I went to college within an hour of both Tanguay and coombs and I didn't even know it... :jerkit:

I'm about 26 miles from Boston. Acton to be specific.

Thanks everyone! I've got some research to do!

So who is heading down to the East Windor show this upcoming weekend? It would be nice to see some of the local knife afficiados in person....

I should be at the ncca show in the morning, but it's in the oposite direction of the superbowl party I'm going to that evening so I'll have to leave by noonish.

I live in Holden, Ma.
Stephen Olszewski, Richard Wright and Bill McHenry live in Ri.
Bill Saindon in NH
George Dailey in Ma
Jason Williams in Ct.

The new knives annual has us all listed by state and town.

We are pretty much Folder makers.

Norm Bardsley is in RI
Marcel Morin is in Maine
Indian George is somewhere up in that area, but I don't know exactly where.
Kelly Carlson is in NH
These are all excellent guys. (at least as far as I know)
Thanks,
Del

Thanks for all the info!

I guess I am more interested in Fixed blades at the moment....

RJ Martin is in Bridgewater MA, and he is a great guy in addition to being a fantastic knife maker

This spring I'm going to attempt to have a small hammer in at my shop and get some local makers over. (Nothing the size of what IG usually puts on each year, but hopefully get maybe a dozen people) so watch the forums and maybe get to meet more =P
