After much internal debate I decided to get a 6 over the 5. I got the pouch as well. Molle locks don't fit well in uppermost holes on sheath. The rear clip is bent sharply against the handle shape in the sheath. The knife showed up super sharp, but not shiny.....the way I like it. She really is a brute. Can't imagine ever coming up short wishing for the 5. I really want to find a pouch that will cover the whole sheath. Any Suggestions? I like the molle backs but they are pricey from what I've seen so far. Just wanted to get my first post in towards getting a number and patch. I'm more of a reader than a poster so it's probably going to be awhile 'til 25 posts:.:(

the molle back while not cheap is well worth the money it makes the sheath perfect. check out the seconds to save a few bucks.

or the clip plate works good too.

take it easy

Anyone else have the same problem with the molle locks? Any ideas on pouches that would run entire length of the sheath?

Are you using the rubber spacer washers with the molle locks? That helps with the flexing part.

As for pouches that will run the whole length of the 6 pouch, I can't think of any off hand, but get creative. Depending on what size you want, you could do anything from a single pistol magazine pouch to a flashbang pouch like this....

MOLLE pouches are very versatile and can be used in a lot of applications outside of MOLLE compatible gear.

Mine fit fine..I got the front pouch and used the longer screws without washers. Perfect fit.

i just got my 6 in friday, i havnt sprung for the molle back yet and no i think im not gunna bother w/ the pouch, just gunna find a mag pouch, it came perty sharp also and w/ a lil work its shaving sharp now, cant wait to take it out and give it some real use

I love my 6! Good choice over the 5 IMO, I have both but for all around good camping outdoors knife I always reach for my RC-6

I Love the 6 use it too the best of your ability, it loves to be beaten to death.:D:thumbup:
I bet you cant hurt it!!!!

For me the molle locks don't work well except on molle gear. Go figure. :D

The clip plate and molle back from ESEE do work well though. You could always make your own if you can scrounge up the materials.

I ordered the 6 and the pouch together but only received four screws and eight "nuts" plus four rubber washers. I had to move it all down to the second holes in the sheath. Wish I could do pics but can't. Thanx for the tips guys.

I also run the clip plate, and it seems to be working fine so far.

Remember you can also use a large Tek Lok fastener if you decide to start a sheath project.

I ended up going with the MAXPED Janus pouch. Very cool. I was able to get all the usual stuff, plus some speedhooks and a yo-yo in there. A little bulky but I'll try it outdoors the first weekend of '11. I really like the strap extension for the Janus pouch. I fixed it to my versipack strap and it rides like it came there from the factory. I discovered it took minutes to mount the ESEE pouch to the Janus for an extra "tin o' fire" if I were to mount the whole thing to a pack. You can really get a headache trying to figure out all the possible combinations you can use depending on your current task.

Can you post some pics of your set up?

Tinwiskers, those scales are beautiful. Did you make them or buy them? If you bought them where can I pick up a pair?

We are sold out of the factory seconds on the MOLLE Backs

I tried the clip plate for the 6, it just wasn't for me. A molle back is in store for my 6 in the future, i have a molle back on my 4 and love it.
