New ESEE Camp Lore Blades

I'll probably see my first samples/examples at the Blade Show in June. I'd like to handle Rubien's blade design.

Will they come out before the Izula folder? I have been impatiently waiting for that one.

I'm not much on scandi grinds , but that "Gobson" knife looks real good

HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS !

It looks nice. We will just have to see if it is released anywhere near the stated release date.

that Gibson model is sweet I like it a lot looking forward to the release of these for sure.

For me it all depends on the price if it is prices within the same realm as the Izula then sign me up. Any more than 80 bucks is a deal breaker for me.

Well, their site says shipped in October and from what I can tell dealers haven't even been able to place orders yet. I don't get the delay...

If the RB3 comes out in the sub $100 range, I may have to get one. It would be a great competitor in the $50-80 range.

I've seen the new leather sheaths and they are nice, but won't be dyed to keep down the price. I could only guess it's to keep it as close to $100 as possible.

The RB3 is the one I'm really looking forward to. It's frustrating they are missing the release date. If they are sub $100 I may buy both.

Been wanting a pocket-able Scandi and haven't had an ESEE since they were still RAT. This is exciting.

Would the JG3 be a better all around than the RB3 Scandi? Is the RB3 going to mainly be for woodworking? If so wouldn't just a woodworking knife and the JG3 be a better option?

I'm pretty sure it's Scandi ground.

I'll get both. There's no way to know how well they'll work, for me, otherwise.

"Scandi" = low saber grind.

If it's <$100, I'll probably get the Gibson because I like the handle shape and overall design. It'd be nice if Rowen hardened their 1095 >60 Rc for these instead of the usual 55-57.

The better "all around" knife is the one that fits your hand better. The JG3 handle restricts hand-size more than the RB3, but 4.25" should just fit a medium-size hand or smaller. The RB3 has an open design for larger hands.
The JG3 should have better penetration as well as better indexing and control, more nimble, a better skinner/slicer/hunter/etc. The images I've seen look like thicker stock there as well, ~1/8", so plenty stout.
The RB3 has a much rounder, thicker handle to reduce fatigue carving wood. It looks to be slightly thinner stock, basically a Mora companion with wider blade and upgraded handle material.

Looking at the specs the JG3 is pretty close to the #3. It actually seems to weigh more. I could see for skinning the JG3 may be better, but any other advantages? I'm just trying to place where it would fit with the other knives I own.

Cant wait for the rb3 ive been wanting to get something I little easier to carry day to day than my esee4 and im not to big on the esee3 so I was looking at brkt gunny but the rb3 seems to be at a better price point for me($100 right?)

I'm quite fond of ESEE products, and I like the direction the Camp Lore line is taking (no coated blades, less of a military feel). However, I've learned not to hold my breath waiting for any of their products making it to dealers on the estimated release date.
