I'm just getting ready to start making knives, so new to everything, including the blade forum. I've been lurking and reading quite a bit though.
I ordered an Esteem Grinder from Brett, and it arrived today, so I thought I'd post up some pictures. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions and am hoping to get help here as I learn.

Anyway, here is the new grinder fresh from the box.

Done around half time and I even had to run to Lowes for digital calipers. I have to say, Brett M made this pretty easy. The closest I've been to a knife grinder is Youtube. This Esteem grinder went together very easily, and it all made sense all along the way. All the screws were there. The parts fit just as they should, no slop, no trouble with off-set holes.
This thing is built like a tank. It is very solid and heavy.

In a word: Quality.

Congrats! What'd you get?

I got the variable. It goes from almost nothing to fast. Nice controller. Nice motor too, but don't have my steel yet.

And it's parked in the living room right in front of the big screen...perfect! (for a bachelor :D )

I also chose the VFD and added the flipping base to give me some horiz capability

check out bladecraftknives on IG, he also has the hinged base option
his IG has some pics you can see
it gives you a horiz grinder capability

It looks like you got the KBAC 27D? There is a 2x jumper in there towards the middle top that doubles the speed if you ever need super ridiculously fast.
