Hey Guys,
I got a KMG-10 when I first started making knives and it is a good grinder but I've always had problems with a little belt wobble. I know some of it is the belt's fault but after weeks of adjust the machine I still get a little wobble. I free hand grind using a wheel so the wobble really gets me sometimes during plunge cleanup.
Both grinders are 2hp with VFD and setup for 220v.
I was looking around for a new grinder when I saw some of Brett's Esteem grinders on here and decided that was the way to go after all the positive reviews. First, Brett is just awesome, he answers questions and goes out of his way to help, I couldn't be happier with the CS aspect. My KMG has a custom built flip table made of wood and is not as easy to flip as I like, the Esteem has a flip base option that is much better, but the biggest thing is the tracking is so smooth on this, zero wobble. I've ground a couple practice blades and it is a major difference. For any guys looking for a 2x72 I highly recommend the Esteem, cost is actually less with all the options and you can get a great flip base. I'm not bashing KMG, it is a great grinder, I'm just very impressed with the Esteem.
