Howdee all,

Just wanted to give maximum accolades to Extrema Ratio for their new designs, and the most reliable, most accomodating vendor for their product i have found yet -http://www.XtremeKnives.com. They have a new Tanto for example in 4 sizes called the T3000. It's got great geometry for slicing, slashing, stabbing, etc, as well as a swedged spine the length of the blade presumably reducing weight and increasing ease of penetration. The stock is their proven 1/4" thick N690. The smallest one, the T3000C, is the one i bought. It hides inconspicuously under a tshirt or a suit blazer in a kydex sheath that holds it snug as a bug - no rattle at all- in a 5-position large Tec-lock. yet the draw is surprisingly easy and fast, given how securely it is held -- the mark of good kydex making. Everything about it sings Italian and Quality. I'll try to include some images to get the salivary glands flowing. And i can't stress enough how kind, helpful, and on-the-ball they are at www.Xtremeknives.com. I was really impressed.

That is a supercool knife. It reminds me of the "new" design of the Razel but much more Italian.

That information is easy to find at the link -- if you can read red text on a black background.

Who designs these websites, anyway?

I got a Extrema Ratio Shrapnel a few weeks ago. The handle looks just like T3000 and the sheath that comes with the T3000 also looks like the one that comes with the Shrapnel. I got my mine from the same vendor the OP mentioned. Fast shipping and easy website ordering.

I actually like this one more than most Extrema Ratios. The blade profile is closer to a traditional tanto, which is pretty nice... though I'll never understand what they were thinking when designing the handles. It's not my type of knife, but I'm glad to hear that you like it!

Edit- illest... do you mean sickest?

I like the tip. It looks like it would get more cake frosting out of the bowl than a spatula.

:D

Hey Hari-kiri-yogi (Harry?)

I broke down and bought one, my first Extrema Ratio. Where did you get the lanyard for yours? It looks totally right on this blade.

For others...It's no "sharpened pry-bar". Sure it looks like it could pry but it is SCARY sharp...the edge just eats paper with no drag. The handle is very good. The cutout allows your forefinger to position as if it were a mini-guard and indexing is spot-on. Great blade!

:D

Ahh, I agree - it looks like either could get more icing out of the bowl.

Stabbing? How? It's got the straight look of a commercial belting knife from a Goodyear plant.
