Fallkniven is coming out with the new pro series which uses LAM COS steel in the A1, S1, & F1. These knives are gonna be great. I've got the volcano and had the kolt in this steel and am totalling impressed. I like it better than 3G. Their are also some major differences between these and the VG 10 models including one of their great combo stones and more. Somehow they just look sexier to me than older models too. NEW products at Fallkniven site. NEW lifetime warranty for craytab too. Hehe. NEW catalog can be downloaded from their site.
Curious as to what the.community thinks. Thanks fellas.

I don't know how I feel about them yet. For one, I'm not crazy about the stainless crossguard. For another, I've always thought the blades were a tad too thick for their length, so I'm not happy to see them even thicker.

Additionally, I'm not a metallurgist, but is the steel composition different enough for a significant gain in performance?

I suppose it all depends on the price point. I do like the inclusion of their DC4 stone.

Oh crud...looks like I'm going to be buying more Fallknivens again.....lol
Who has this F1 pro in the U.S.??

Yes!!!!!!
What a second,

Whoa the geometry is different as well.

The handles also have metal bolsters.

Hmmmm.

I'm liking the new green micarta GP & PXL as well as the tan handled black blade F1 in lam CoS. Due out end of October.

Ahh I see, this is a premium edtion "Pro series"

Not a replacement.
Looks like they are all ~1mm thicker.
They also applied the A1 design to the F1 and the S1. (The all look the same but just different sizes) versus being different designs and sizes.

The zytel sheath has additional loops on the side and looks less boxy.

Includes a waterproof case and DC4.

Yikes! thats going to jack the price sky high knowing Fallkniven I read elsewhere from Peter that they didn't make a Lam. CoS sooner because of cost.

I'm guessing $500-$600 for the pro series.

I'm still excited but I don't think it will be in my budget.

Laminated Cobalt is highly revered but is quite obscure. Hey JFK, how much edge retention would you say it has over VG10?

It lasts a damn long time and it strops to laser like sharpness. It's really fine grained so the edge will polish up nice. It's also tough as well. I've hacked down numerous trees with the volcano and split a deer ribcage with absolutely no effects on the edge. Aside from the looks, fallkniven knives just melt into my hands anyway. I'll never get rid of the volcano. Now I'll have to get 3-4 more knives.from fallkniven.

The Kolt gets a sheath!!!!!

I can finally get one of those

Their site claims along with the increased spine thickness the edge geometry has been tuned for better cutting.
