NEW - Federal District Judge Throws Out NYC & DA Motions in Knife Rights NYC Lawsuit!

Nicely done, sir. Greetings from your Northern Neighbors! Regardless of where the progress is, it is important.

We couldn't do it without contributions from good folk like you. Our Freedoms do not come for free, unfortunately.
Thank you Critter and all those in Kniferights who fight for our rights!!!!!!! I will join as soon as I get paid!!! Seeing some of the posts from BF members that live in Europe scares the hell out of me!

After having a continually sick feeling in my stomach every time I read about the attack on the rights of the citizens of NYC to own a knife, this is wonderful news indeed! Thank you sir for all that you are doing!

What PBCG said!

Muchas gracias AKTI!

Just to set the record straight, AKTI has absolutely nothing, zero, zip to do with this lawsuit. This effort and lawsuit is strictly Knife Rights with generous support from some members of the knife industry and a few individuals, as well as donations from many members here to the Knife Rights Foundation Sharper Future Legal Fund. You can find a list of the major donors here: http://bit.ly/cObtwC We are very grateful for their support. We could not do this if they had not been willing to step up to protect our freedoms.

Awesomee! Keep up the great work knife rights! Appreciating the work you guys do as I am an ny resident and saddened by these events but glad the good guy won in the end. Hope dealers will ship to NYC again :T

Heres a big FU to Vance and his goons! Nothing better to do but bother honest people who may carry an edged tool. I believe research shows that most crimes that are committed with knives are kitchen knives. People in our ghettos arent getting in knife fights with Sebenzas or Benchmades! Thank you Mr Ritter for all you do! This calls for a donation! Cheers! :)

Nothings been won yet, except the right to proceed with the lawsuit against the City and Vance. You can bet that Vance and his cronies are going to try every trick and loophole in the book to fight it. It's going to be a long expensive road and kniferights will need every bit of support it can get.

This is indeed fantastic news!!!! Unfortunately there is one glaring tragedy in this whole charade...... it's the tax-payer's money of NYC which is being misappropriated to finance this suit - AGAINST THE CITIZENS OF NYC!!!

To me, Vance, the Mayor and any other elected/appointed official must be held PERSONALLY and FINANCIALLY responsible for these grievous attacks on Citizen's Civil Rights.

Why is there not a law on the books that provides for PERSONAL and FINANCIAL liability when these HIRED/PAID government officials are initiating laws and bringing cases which oppose and infringe on our Civil Rights? I don't care that in *most* jobs employees do not bear personal and financial responsibility for their errors, but elected officials and their appointee's must be held to a higher level of accountability than the average citizen. They are generally higher educated, higher paid and more "power" (or access to Public Protection as government officials) and as such must bear a higher and greater level of responsibility for their actions.

I understand that to govern a large and diverse population there must be some measures taken that infringe on our rights for the "Greater Good of Society", but there must be a limit to these attacks. Once these limits are exceeded there must be penalties to the responsible Offending Official else these officials can/will at no expense of their own and for their own motives continue their Tax-Payer Supported attacks on the Tax-Payer Population!!!

I guess the recent book/movie "The Hunger Games" just don't really impact people enough to see the potentiality of where we're currently at (vis a vis NYC laws).

Glad to see a Federal judge over-ruling this - we'll see if that judgement prevails.....

Great success. NYC needs to be reminded that the government is of the people, by the people........not of Bloomburg, by $$$.

What we all need to do, as a society, is quit focusing on possession of whatever, and focus on illegal ACTS.

This IS great news. Lets focus on the PEOPLE WHO COMMIT THESE CRIMES---NOT THE TOOL ONE USES TO COMMIT SAID CRIME. We have plenty of people in prison for killing someone with a hammer. Inanimate objects & tools are NOT the problem. Not holding the person accountable enough IS the problem. Scales of Justice have tipped the wrong way.

I couldn't agree more. Hit them in the pocket book and lets see how willing they are to do it again. ;)
