I am just telling this because I found this out today,
You may aready know this, feel free to think that I am dumb for just finding out.
I found that after tempering the blade it is very easy to get the oxidation off with the buffer and compound. I like to have my blade to a satin finish before heat treat so as to cut down on the sand paper used because it doesnt last long on hardened blade. Now with the buff all I have to do it buff it and sharpen. I dont have to try and sand all the oxidation off by hand.
Hope this Helps
