New Fire Capsule

I very recently picked up a pair of lightweight metal match-safes with o-rings and they seem to be quite watertight, even submerged. I just wanted to share my current 'fire capsule' setup that I put together with these containers. The overall length is just under 2.5"

Each container contains three PJ soaked cotton balls in a small baggie, a ferro rod, a piece of mini hacksaw blade, and a regular cotton ball to keep everything packed tightly (and as another tinder source).

I got mine at GoingGear.com

I've seen them in Cabela's as well, but GG's prices are better.

Well done. I might do up something similar. Oddly enough, I've only ever used mine for matches. Imagine that. :)

Storl, do you guys ship to Canada?
And if yes can you ship U.S.P.S?
I see an order in my future if the above answers are affirmative.
:D

If you order something from Going Gear be sure to buy a few strap carabiners. They are very light and only $1.29.

Yes and yes. I offer pretty much every option that USPS offers.

They were all supposed to be red, but I guess the guy doing one of the batches of anodizing was color blind, so I got purple too. :)

Wife got me one of those matchsafes for Christmas along with some small spy capsules. Great stuff! They even through in a free little red whistle that is extremely loud.
