New Flashlight "Junkie-to-be"

All this talk of lights made me go out and order a Surefire E2e-HA. AND I BLAME IT ALL ON YOU GUYS! :D Actually it is something I had been wanting to buy for quit some time now, but never really got around to it. The plan is for it to be an EDC light, at the moment I am thinking a pocket. That might not work out though, so there is always plan B, C... ;) I plan to have it close at hand anyway to complement my other lights. Currently:

Key ring: Photon II in Torquise
Car(when I get one again, hopefully Spring): Maglite 3-D Cell
Home: Maglites scattered about, something like 6 total

The thing I like about the Maglites for car usage is that they are a) cheap, b) durable c) a good striking device if needed. I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving an expensive light sitting in my car at all times. This way I know I will always have a light in the car for when it is needed. Naturally if I relied on having something on hand, the one time I need it would be the time I didn't take one with me.

The thing about using regular battery lights for the "stash around the house" lights is that regular alkaline cells discharge over time whereas the CR123's don't. So, you can put a 123 light in a safe place, come back in a year and it works as good as when you left it, whereas the Mag probably won't. Osprey, where can you get the 1W Nuwai for under $30? That would be a good alternative to the Arc LS's. I've been happy with my Peak AAA's, but my recommendation to them would be to dump the standard line (the underpowered LED ones), make the "Hi Power" their standard line and make a new "Hi Power" that overdrives the LED ala Arc. If they ramp up power output to match the regulated Arc AAA they'd have good business just for those. Unfortunately the 3-LED Hi Power AAA is what gets you close to the single LED Arc AAA. Get that power ramped up, guys!
