New flipper prototype

Thanks for that JB,
Capbyrd, It's a tumbled finish. I'm going to go to a stoned wash finish on the others though. I think I like the look of it a bit better.

I've got to weigh in here. I had an opportunity to handle one of these knives at the Southern California Blade Expo yesterday and it definitely falls into the OMG category. It's one of the lightest knives for it's size I've ever seen. It's larger than the Slim EDC I bought from Ray and I swear it's lighter. The fit and finish are exemplary. Michael comes by his ABS Master Smith designation honestly and Ray is fortunate indeed to have him as his mentor and teacher. As JB in SC said, I can't imagine anyone being disappointed in anything this man makes. I also feel compelled to add that the prices Michael sells his knives for are astonishingly low for a maker of his caliber. Anyone considering owning one of his knives would be well-advised to make the investment.

+1 (sorry we did not meet yesterday, I am sure we passed at the show, I bought Ray's clip point Blast)
The Velox is a flipper like no other - light (made out of air) and requires almost no effort to open. The flipper "trigger" is smaller than most and very unobtrusive. How he gets it to fire open with such little leverage is a tribute to his ability as a knife maker. The balance is perfect and as bld522, it is LIGHT - amazing work.

I was at the show with Ray the past two days and it was awesome. Nice folks and great knives. Michael and Ray made a great showing as usual. I can't agree more with bld552 and balance123's comments.

Hey guys. Thanks for coming over to see me. I appreciate the kind words. The Pasadena show has been really good. When I get home I'll be making more of these.

Buddy24, I will put you on my list.

Wow. That is a stunning knife. Simple, no BS, but gorgeous. That is why I love your knives and Ray's too.

Michael what a terrific looking knife. IMO it's a really nice blend of art/tactical design/finish. I would agree with everyone else that has mentioned the hidden flipper as making this piece special.

I can't believe the size of this thing. Considering the size I bet she carries like a much smaller knife.

+1 on what Ray said for a name.

For me personally I think I would be more inclined to purchase a knife like this if it was smaller. Maybe with a blade in the 3" range. Of course just my personal opinion.

Awesome knife!! Cheers

Folder geek, I do make a mini version. It's a 3" blade. I'm making a couple for the Blade show. I'll post pics when I finished. Thanks for the kind words every one.

If there's any way to get one of the 3"ers outside of Blade I'd be all ears... :D
