New Fogg

Do you know if the owner of that knife collects back teeth?

If so, I would like to offer mine in trade.

That knife is astoundingly beautiful (even for a Fogg).

That's one I would really like to handle and examine up close.
Very interesting handle and guard obviously.

Most definitly my favorite Fogg to date.:thumbup::thumbup:

Fantastic and awe inspiring as always. Since I'm pretty sure those rings on the handle are integral with the rest of the handle, can you imagine the added difficulty in creating that?!?!

Just when it looks like a couple people are on Don's heels with whispy hamon, he takes it up another 50 notches.

A true MASTER SMITH.

I wish Don would take a 'traditional' shot of this piece. We are all oohing and ahhing, and the knife is black and upside down..... he he he!

When you are an acclaimed artist and have a hamon THAT distinct, you can get away with atrocities.. ;)

I concur. It's a really nice piece.

I think the handle is carved blackwood - the "rings" are part of the carving.

This picture isn't perfect but it does show off the hamon better than most others I've seen.

Hear are the spec's straight from Don's post on his site..

"This is a piece that I have been working on for a while and just finished. It is the second in a series based on a design by Craig Bird. The blade length is 13" with an overall of 18.5" The blade is 1095, the habaki copper, the tsuba is carved Damascus with a carved ebony handle."

This piece still amazes me.
