NEW FOLDER & OPINIONS WANTED

Thanks again everyone, all these opinions and comments have really changed my throughts for up coming pieces.

Daniel, when you say the thumb stub is to far down when closed, do you mean to far from the liners or to close to the pivot end? It really opens quite nicely with one hand and its as smooth as buttermilk. But there's always room for improvements and without opinions and suggestions I wouldn't know what they are. Thanks.

Bill - I took some liberties with your picture to show what I mean. Have a look:

I really like it when the thumbstud is matched up nicely to the cutaway. I do like the distance you gave it from the bolster.

Just, design-wise, this is very visually appealing to me.

Like I said before, the folder is an excellent piece as-is. Far beyond my own abilities.

p.s. I should mention that I do know it might cause clearance issues with the thumbstud and the front of the bolster. It's just a suggestion for the next one down the road.

No it looks terrible, why don't you send it to me so you don't have to look at it any more?

Looks beautiful man, I was put off at first by the swirly damascus, but the more I look at it, the more I like it.

OK Daniel, I see what your saying now, but to move it ahead would cause the thumbstud to hang on the bolsters, and when I ground the relief in I didn't want to move the location of the finger notch along the bottom of the folder or grind into the maple scales. It just kind of had to happen there. I will keep that in mind on the next one though, Thanks.

Silent, like I told Brian earlier, I would send it but I don't have your address, and I've already unboxed it now. sorry. :D
