They are both great knives. A bit over the $100.00 mark you originally set, but hey-it happens. I have held both, but own neither. I personally like the design and overall look of the mod better. However, the bm offers you the axis, which is very nice. I'm sure the mod locks up strong too though. Couldn't really say which has a stronger tip, but I "think" that the bm might. Like I said, I like the mod and hope to own one someday, but, the 520 is probably a little more of a work horse knife, if that's what you're lookin for.

Axis lock, thick aluminum handles AND steel liners, and a blade with a thickness of .130". I'm not sure there is a folder that would be any stronger around the pivot, especially for lateral pressure, than the 520. MOD makes a very good knife and I really like the look of that one, but I think I would have to go with the BM.
