Heres a hawk we finished today. Made from 1045, you can see the hardened metal on the cutting edge and on the hammer poll..

That's a sweet hawk. Usually I don't like file work on a hawk, but that just looks good!
 
Very pretty hawk, love the lines. Great hunk of curly too. Congrats.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. I cant get my pictures to do the curly maple justice. Its a lot nicer than the pics show. I need to make a light box in the worst way..
